MSI is proud to present a brand new series based on AMD's "Polaris" chipsets, the Radeon graphics-based MECH series. Equipped with the new thermal design, the Radeon RX MECH series doesn't just allow for higher core and memory speeds but also provide increased performance in games. The outstanding shapes of the eye-catching MECH series cooler are intensified by a fiery red glow piercing through the cover, while the MSI dragon RGB LED on the top can be set to any of 16.7 million colors to match your mood or build. A completely custom PCB design featuring enhanced power design with Military Class 4 components enables higher stable performance to push your graphics card to the max. A classy matte black metal backplate shows the MECH 2 cards more structural strength and provides a nice finishing touch.

"AMD Radeon has always been committed to the best interest of gamers: a dedication to open innovation such as our contributions to the DirectX and Vulkan APIs, a commitment to true transparency through industry standards like Radeon FreeSync technology, and a desire to expand the PC gaming ecosystem by enabling developers everywhere. It is these values that result in a thriving PC gaming community, and explain why so many gamers continue to rally behind the AMD Radeon brand," said Scott Herkelman, vice president and general manager, AMD Radeon Technologies Group.

New MECH Series Thermal Design
MSI's award-winning TORX Fan 2.0 is the enhanced version of the patented MSI TORX Fan technology which generates 22% more air pressure for better cooling performance while further reducing noise levels. Connected to the huge heatsink are 6mm thick copper heat pipes with a squared shape at the bottom for optimal heat transfer from the solid nickel-plated copper baseplate combined with Premium Thermal Compound X to keep the Polaris powerhouse cool.

Exclusive Airflow Control Technology
With advanced aerodynamics, the Airflow Control Technology leads more air directly onto the heat pipes of MECH series design. The special deflectors on the heat sink enlarge the surface area, which means lower temperatures and better gaming. Furthermore, MECH series utilizes SuperSU heatpipe design which is the best cooling solution for graphics cards. The GPU is cooled by a massive nickel-plated copper base plate connected to 6mm heat pipes. Additionally, the heat pipe layout increases efficiency by reducing the length of unused heat pipe and a special SU-form design.

MSI Gaming App
The MSI Gaming App allows gamers to quickly switch between OC, Gaming and Silent performance modes, depending on their needs. The latest version of MSI Gaming App features One-click to VR, which instantly optimizes your PC for the best Virtual Reality experience. It also includes host of premium features like EyeRest to improve image quality and Dragon Eye which allows you to watch a YouTube video or stream while gaming. Last but not least, the Gaming App features a LED control tab, allowing gamers to choose from 5 unique lighting modes to set the right ambience for their gaming sessions with just one click.

AVAILABILITY
MSI Radeon RX 580/570 MECH 2 models are expected to be in stores worldwide around the end of July 2018.

GPP isn't really dead, i'm afraid. At least its still MSI.

MSI probably created the brand during GPP but couldn't reach market quickly enough with it, or was considering its options, and thus they're now left with a brand specific to AMD GPUs unnecessarily. Oh well...

GPP is alive and well it seems :banghead:

Also, does this sound too much like "Meh" series?

Hmm, ASUS with Arse series, MSI with Meh series...

They could at least be a bit more subtle implementing GPP... Or, is this a competition about who can cozy up to NVIDIA most? Or, maybe they're simply brainstorming with NVIDIA on the new series naming?

:laugh::laugh: I'm laughing but not out of joy

Sapphire already got these sleek mechs, that's what MSI could come up with? Maybe that's why it's called MECH 2.

Nice to see them going out of their way and finally placing some of the profit they've been getting to R&D up a newer perhaps better cooler.

Although, it does gamers no good if we can't get it for at least the $230 MSRP that AMD started with. At this point in production (1yr) any of these types of cards would normally only command perhaps $210 or less working a rebate. Something new to give the impression they can still gouge you! Meh I'll pass...

Edit: When we consider the of 8Gb of GDDR5 being like 50% increased since the original MSRP, what might have been $30-40, such ram is probably now $80 including AIB's parts mark-up. So a RX 480 8Gb could see a $270 price working that increase, however that's not taking in to account normal product life cycle demotion, which has yet to come into the mix. All said, if you can find a nicer RX 480 8Gb down at $270 it can be the "normalize" cost today, but still slightly inflated price for the lifecycle of the technology.

Okay I'll ask... what AMD card are you comparing to the GTX 1050 Ti?

Benchmark Scores 3050 scores good 15-20% lower than average, despite ASUS's claims that it has uber cooling.
Hmm, ASUS with Arse series
Strix stuff is back (not sure why Strx sounds cooler than Ares though).

In case people where wondering why crappier nVidia's cards outsell faster and cheaper ones from AMD (e.g. 280(x) vs 960)
