I purchased this headset recently and i have to say it is fantastic.
I initially tried the ROG fusion 700 and was bitterly dissapointed, it was sent back within an hour, it was truly awful.
But i found the Arctis Pro and GameDAC a totally different offering.
The hairs on my neck literally stood up and i now hear sounds in game that i simply never heard before.
Brass bullet casings hitting the floor and pin point accuracy of footsteps, somthign i simply didnt get with either the Turtle Beach Z60 or the Rog Fusion 700.
The RGB lighting is subtle and alothough pointless, isnt garish or OTT, but actually enhances the set, epecially the led on the mike tip showing you when its muted, thsi can be set to any color as well.
The buttons are well thought out and really easy to use.
It is worth reading up on what settings to choose in windows 10 and on the Game DAC istself, but it is really easy to navigate and is also plug and play, so you dont really need to the software Engine at all.
Lastly ive heard a few people mention it isnt very loud, but this is due to anyone selecting "europe" in the steup having a slightly reduced volume as it is set to protect your ears lol.
This can be turned off though in the menu "gain" setting.
Overall i could not be more pleased and i feel that sound has a whole new meaning in game now - its so fresh and immersive, well done Steelseries i cannot recommend these headphones enough.
My only tiny gripe is id like to have seen more adjustment on the ski head band, i.e. a longer velcro tab, but ive simply added one myself that ive had sewn into the band to get more adjusment on and it is perfect and i also wish the cables were slightly longer, its ok for me asim a pc gamer, but not really for a console without extra cables.
As regards the GameDAC being easily scratched in honesty i wouldnt toss it into my rucksack with it being in sort sort of glasses case
Its primarily designed to sit on a desktop and there it sits scratch free with normal use.
For me, the Arctis Pro = GameDAC is easily well worth the price as an upgrade over my Turtle Beach Z60 headset.
Im primarily a PC gamer and mostly a Pubg addict, so my task now is to tweak the settings to exactly what is best in Pubg and im open to suggestions here for that =)
My only other considered headset was the Sennheiser GSP 550 but it wasnt quite released yet and i could not wait any longer.
