The new GeForce RTX 2080 Ti finally brings convincing performance for 4K 60 FPS highest-settings gaming.

We were wondering, how many of you are 4K gamers.

No, not until the price for a 4K panel lowers to a sane level. How can a 4K monitor cost the same than a cellphone with a much smaller 4K screen?

Voted "no". Don't think I ever will either, even if I had tons of cash. 4k screens are simply too large for my taste. I'd prefer a smaller 1080p screen, even if RTX2080Ti was an option for me.

Nope! and wont be for a very long time. 1440P here and Im happy with that res without spending some retarded amount of money to get good FPS at 4K.

I have mates that got 4K Monitors ($800 it cost) to game on with SLi GTX 760s and a GTX 960, like WTF! and with to many issues playing older games on such a high res. Its only for the rich! or silly with regards to my mates lol

Nope, and probably never will Game at 4K. It will require buying every generation of the very top GPU, because new games will always come out making 4K not achievable again. I’ll stay at 1440p.

Well there's 8k & 16k waiting in the wings, though at some point you'd have to think that Physics, & Chemistry, will halt the progress in semiconductor industry even if temporarily.

when 4K capable GPUs cost 700-950$ (gtx 1080 ti - rtx 2080) - you have to be a rich boi to run 4K PC games, even tough decent 4k 60 panels have come down and cost sub 350$ these days

Yeeeeeaaaahhhh.....for me there is zero sense in going 4K if I have to settle for mid-detail.

my 1080TI@2050 is struggling in newer games @ 4K.. sooo…. It would have been fun to see this pool before the Crazy prices of the 20 series was announced.

2070 4k playable,, yes in 30FPS or if you want some really detailed lo res textures on your screen

you have RTX 2070 benchmarks? only thing we can know about for sure - it will be weaker than rtx 2080 is and it will cost 600-ish $ (or you think it will be 499,99$ - like nvidia says?) - that nor good value, nor 4k60 gpu.

I'm using 4K for the most part. I don't stand a chance with a few games. While some may just be around 50fps. so I compensate with Freesync.

Clearly we see the 20:80 rule here with 4K, 80% of sales come from 20% of clients, not necessarily, kind of.

I know 2070 will be 85% of 2080. same relation as GTX 760/680, that puts it at 1080Ti performance, so 600$ seems justified, non reference non binned cards cheaped down versions to cost less. At 600$ assume 115% pure performance per dollar not accounting for HDR and DLSS yet, 1070Ti being 138%.

Just got a new 1080p IPS monitor last year so I'm good for a few years, maybe move to 1440p then.

I wouldn’t be so sure of that yet. 2080 wasnt so far ahead of 1080Ti for that to automatically happen. And don’t forget, 2070 is going to be on a smaller chip.

Have to settle on using a TV if I want HDR for PC gaming currently, which I dont do often as PC games are just not designed for a large screen - scaling on certain elements are typically awful.

From a distance (10 feet or so), it's not bad. At least not to me.

We recommend 1440p 165 Hz using AU OptronicsAcer XB271HU or Asus PG279Q) panels which sometimes are dropping below $600. Won't think about 4k until....

a) The 4k versions of the above monitors are available at reasonable price.
b) Cards exist, again at reasonable price, where can play games under ULMB.

Wide panels wil interest me possibly if and when panels match the quality of the above.
