Well, MSI just confirmed that they will send me a new one free and i can keep this one. I re-flashed the bios that they indicated(the one with 290w as the power limit). Well, with it it's a total difference. Firstly, the firestrike score raised to 20.000pts. The voltages are staying at 1.062-1.050 without dropping and the clocks are between 1940-1932 without oc. The power limit is completely gone. What the heck is this? Because the first time i flashed this bios, i got random crashes everytime. I will get back to testing this bios hard to see if it crashes. It seems that this card has a mind of it s own

Wait, what. Send you a new one. Keep this one. What?

That is awesome! You will probably get a refurb but still.

I told them i wouldn't want to go thru the whole hassle with the store more so because they will not test the gpu properly and they told me to give them my adress and expect a delivery 2 weeks from now and i get to keep my old card. Too bad i can't SLI them if this card will be unstable

Its definitely worth trying to clock both cards to 1700~1800 mhz, at a nice low voltage (using voltage curve edit to never pass above 1.0v) and put them in SLI regardless. Its guaranteed to be a whole lot faster still. Put the new card as the main/top card though, so that if you have no SLI, you can go balls to the wall with 1 GPU.

Profit :D

Thank you for the ideas, i for sure will do that, at least i will try. That s a way for them to make my sunday happier :)) But if with the new bios that i re-flashed the card maintains the voltages and clocks, because the power limit is gone, doesn't mean that the card isn't broken? Because i heard that at the launch day, msi sent reviewers cards with the power limit at 300w and they than sold those cards to the customers with 210-220w

As long as the card responds to voltage curve edits like you've said, all is fine really. Just make sure you stay away from 1.1V.

Broken... I'd rather say 'not functioning perfectly'. There is barely any gain when you go past 200W board power anyway.

I know there isn't much gain, but my card was power throttling, or atleast that i think, because now the voltages and core clocks are so smooth. And the firestrike score gained 500points and i think that is something. I keep the card at 1.062 so that ot won t go further than 63°C. But seems that power limit at 290w really made a difference. Now i need to test the stability
