Hi,

I had been using Different SLI Auto 1.7.1 under Windows 10 with driver 387.92 in a z800 Workstation for a while now, but after switching to my Supermicro server, I cannot make it work.

I have two GTX 1080's in SLI using a high bandwidth bridge, on a Supermicro x9dri-ln4f+ motherboard. I am using a fresh installation of Windows 7, and have tried driver version 382.33 with version 1.7 and 387.92 with version 1.7.1. Neither work.

I have closely followed the instructions, and as I said, I had it working on my z800. Does this hack not work on UEFI systems?

Thanks for the help.

I'm not aware of any problems on UEFI systems. I had my patched drivers running on UEFI systems as well without problems.
...have tried driver version 382.33 with version 1.7 and 387.92 with version 1.7.1. Neither work.
Simply stating 'not working' gives no indication of the problem. Need to be more specific than that.
Patching successful? Errors during installation? SLI button comes up in nVidia panel?

@anatolymik has left the building a long time ago. This project has been kept kind of alive by other volunteers since.
The last supported driver version however is already almost a year old. So much about that.

If you have two cards using the same microarchitecture and similar performance you can try these install instructions:
https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/sli-with-different-cards.158907/post-3886651

But don't go out and buy another card relying on this patch to work. Many ppl are unsuccessful, because either they don't follow/understand the instructions properly or the cards actually refuse to SLI in the end.

I tried with the driver 392.00 the last ones with fermi support.
Could not find patch #4. :(

Hello good morning, there is some way to make the hypersli work with the new drivers, I use the different sli , because until about 2 years ago I did not work anymore with the new drivers, but I use 2 similar cards, in a mother card that does not support the sli (economic reasons and the country where I live is Venezuela) I would like to change motherboard but it is very difficult, I wanted to know if there is any way to use the hyper sli with new drivers in windows 10?

The latest working combination for Win 10 is DifferentSLIauto version 1.7.1 and nVidia driver 388.71
This is probably good enough for a while with any card except the new 2x series.
This project is dependent on volunteers, who haven't updated the patch for more than a year.
I'm not optimistic this will change...

Wouldn't work, even if it did it would far less performance. Kind of a silly thing to ask tbh

What king of swag187 said.
Not suitable for SLI; different microarchitectures (Tesla/Kepler).
Also the result would be worse in all aspects than that of a single GTX 650 Ti.

Hey guys, I have 2 gtx 970's i want to SLI on a non sli mobo, supports crossfire though. I heard somewhere that apparently you need a full 16x slot and a 8x slot to be able to run sli? If my mobo has a 16X slot and 4x slot would the driver hack still work or no?

I would have tested it by now but im still waiting on my bridge to turn up.

Officially the MoBo must be SLI certified by nVidia, which also covers PCIe requirements, etc.
The DifferentSLIauto patch circumvents these checks, so you can run SLI on non-complying MoBos with lesser PCIe bandwidth, if the card pairing allows it technically.
But I recommend to backread this thread a bit, since there are significant difficulties and downsides to it (like no BattlEye, difficult install procedure, need to use a year old nVidia driver, etc.).

If I'm honest, it's just not worth it to do so, it'd be easier to sell both 970's and get a 1070

How far back would you say i need to go? I really dont feel like going through 113 pages of stuff XD
I'm not to worried about using such an old driver for it. Ill do a fresh install of windows on a seprate drive to rule as many possible issues out.
If i cant get it working i will probably end up just selling them and buying a 1070.

If you have the possibility of buying a new vga or a new motherboard that supports the sli do it, I am in economic constraints to do so (due to the crisis in my country) but I am already limited to playing new games with an anti hack system more common as the battleye, the new battlefield asks for a new version of nvidia drivers that is not compatible with the last one that works this program, so it is no longer profitable and advisable to use this patch with each passing day that there are no new updates the latest functional version is nVidia 388.71

Yeah if i had the money to do it i would just buy a new mobo or card, but as of a few months ago i am now without a job due to completeing my traineeship. What kinda of anti-cheat issues am i likley to get? Bans or just getting kicked and told to update my gpu driver?

Definitely this.
With the market this liquid on Ebay and the like, you can sell/buy GPUs pretty much for what they're actually worth, so you won't lose much in the process.
Two 970s yield like $250 which will practically buy a 1070.

Anti-cheat software, like BattlEye, blocks your game, because you'd be running a non-certified driver.

Most games with it (PUBG, Fortnite, etc) just won't start

Ahhh ok. Now days i dont really play many big games. I mainly play a few sims and and on occasion GTA V, So i'd be fine with dodging anti-cheat software. I was mainly wanting to be able to get a decent framerate on tripple 1080p for GTA V and dirt Rally. Once i pick up a job i will be ditching the 970's as fast as i can XD

Hopefully my bridge turns up tommorrow so i can have a play.

Cheers for the help guys, much appreciated :) . I'll let y'all know if i have any success or failures with it.

Hi Everyone,
I'm not sure if I am adding anything of substance to this forum by pointing this out (because it seems kinda obvious), but has anyone thought of getting the driver certified/signed? Is it even a possibility..?
I'm a newbie to this forum, so I don't really know to code/magic that gets this stuff to work. But from my understanding, the drivers aren't certified by Microsoft, so they won't launch properly when test mode/driver verification mode (F7 startup) is turned off.

Here's the page that got me thinking this could be a possibility:
https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/wi...5/04/01/driver-signing-changes-in-windows-10/

"
If you are a driver developer, here is what you need to do:
  1. Ensure that you submit new drivers to Microsoft via the Windows Hardware Developer Center Dashboard portal.
  2. Get started with the process of getting an EV Code Signing Certificate.

I agree, as DX12 starts to become used by more devs, sli will become a thing of the past. To be completely honest I probably won't need this method anymore because I found someone selling a 1070 for 200. I am really interested in the method behind the madness that is the code that allows different cards from the same architecture to run the sli. Would you happen to have a link to an explanation of what the code is doing? (I don't know much code besides html css php js and a bit of c++)

The actual SLI functionality for different cards of the same architecture has always been already implemented in the driver.
All that DifferentSLIauto does is circumventing nVidias checks for identical cards and certified MoBos.
