The plot thickens...

So is anyone gonna be mad if they drop RTX prices by up to $300 (or more) in the coming days, talking about current owners of course.

Yeah. Sure. That is the moment you put 'out of stock' next to a product. Not remove it altogether. This event is highly questionable... and the lack of a direct response on the same page as the card itself speaks volumes. Or: why didn't Nvidia mention this in their press release?

Remember this all started with people saying 'just some 'Tubers that need attention'... right now we're looking at an empty product page shortly after an official announcement of a bad batch. I'm not sure how much more people need but its rather easy to connect these dots.

The product was 'pulled' from the menu because they are assessing the incident and it is obviously costing them money right now. You don't do those things 'when its a freak occurence', you do it because you're worried more of them will happen.

I believe the point that was trying to be made is that they(as in all RTX 2080 Tis, not just the FE) aren't listed in(and/or were removed from) the shop. The shop has listings for all the other RTX cards currently being sold(FE and AIB). So, to put it another way, they are obviously trying to distance themselves from(and/or discourage) the sale of RTX 2080 Tis(including, but not limited to, the FE). Which is telling...

The amount of fake news, paranoia and overall witch hunt based on shoddy articles written with no technical basis about RTX cards is unbelievable. I dread on NVIDIAs business practices to milk money, and refuse to buy these for now, but would encourage to hold on to your brain and let it cool for a moment before going full crazy with this stuff. You can create all out panic by deleting a product from web store and not getting immediate reply during weekend? Oh man oh man...

ah sorry, the article said different.
Don't know what you'd be sorry for. The article never said different. And, like I said, that wasn't even the point of it.

Now they've got some "official" statement from Nvidia about it in the article. And an apology of their own. Which is equally for no reason. Since what they stated is still apparently the case. RTX 2080 Tis are not(or longer are) listed for sale in the Nvidia online shop. So, if it ever was listed, it HAS BEEN de-listed(ALL RTX 2080 Ti CARDS, FE AND AIB). Why would that be? Why not still list the AIB cards? They do with every other RTX model. :wtf: Answer, if you haven't already figured it out, the problem is not confined to FE cards.

I'll say it like I said it to those dumbasses over at Gamers Nexus, they have every incentive to try and cover-up/lie about/minimize the extent of the issue. And no incentive to do otherwise. Their stock is tanking hard enough as it is...JFC people. Get a clue...:shadedshu:

This is probably what the article is trying to get at.

That page may be set up to only show in stock items because NVIDIA doesn't allow backorders.

I really don't even get the point if the alleged reason for being out of stock is true. NVIDIA will fix the problem and they'll resume selling cards. Even if you're affected by the defect, the card is sold with warranty which represents a contractual obligation for NVIDIA to fix it in a timely manner.

Fearmongering, baiting, sensationalism, etc. This is what happens when everyone with internet access can become a "news" maker. Tech actually invented a name for this before it became mainstream: "fud."

Just checked out newegg which yesterday showed most 2080 ti in stock and now only one which is from a marketplace vendor is in stock. Does seem suspicious.

There is nothing out of ordinary about temporary removal of products from web stores. Everyone does it. But in this case, it is used as "proof" of major issues and ammunition to fuel fake news and obviously nothing but prompt addition back, at least 2 pages long apology and few Tweets will tame the flames. During weekend, you cannot expect prompt official resposne from company the size of NVIDIA. Hold yer horses, and call/email them first thing on Monday morning and query about this.

The likely truth of the matter. Based on sound reasoning.

Didn't debunk a damn thing. Nobody said or didn't say the were sold out. Or sold out of FEs. The have either de-listed ALL RTX 2080 Tis from their online shop, or they were never ALL listed there(and JUST FEs were). I don't know what the actual case is there. But like I said repeatedly, they have AIB cards listed for the other RTX cards(in addition to FEs).

SO WHY TF ARE THEY NOT WILLING TO ALSO LIST THE OTHER(AIB) RTX 2080 TIS?! BECAUSE...ALL RTX 2080 TIS ARE AFFECTED BY THE PROBLEM. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH JUST FES!!! IN STOCK OR NOT!!!

THERE'S AN OPPOSITE TO FUD...IT'S CALLED BEING BRAINWASHED INTO BELIEVING THE PROBLEM DOESN'T EXIST OR IS TOO MINOR TO MAKE A FUSS ABOUT!!!

And I so can't wait for the MASSIVE "I told you so" you guys have got coming from me in the near future.

More FUD ... peeps do love to hate and don't seem to mind being wrong ..... That being said, always considered buying Reference, FE a bad move. Buying any new tech in the 1st months is always risky ... that's why it's called the "bleeding edge".

Let's review some history ....

EVGA 970 SC - 1/3 of the heat sink missed GPU; EVGA 0ffered replacements to all who asked
EVGA 1060-1080 - Cheaped out on thermal pads for the SC and FTW lines; EVGA offered replacements or pad kits to all who asked
MSI 9xx early cards - The adhesive tape used to hold fans still during shipping was overly aggressive and some uses broke fans removing. MSI replaces the damaged cards.
P68 MoBos had all had the chipset error and all MoBos affected were replaced upon request.

So what's the problem ? Everybody made good on the warranty... if ya don't want to risk the potential of getting something defective, it happens... wait till later steppings and ya don't have to worry about it. Only time i have been blown off was with motherboards whereby 1 or 2 features were non functional, fixed in later steppings and manufacturer blew off the customer.

SO WHY TF ARE THEY NOT WILLING TO ALSO LIST THE OTHER(AIB) RTX 2080 TIS?!

Not their responsibility . Does Seasonic warrant the PSUs they OEM to Corsair ?

Got some anger issues or something....over something as inconsequential in this world as video cards? :kookoo:

All of those have to do with AIBs and their implementations. These issues are supposedly strictly on Nvidia's side but nice try.
