EVGA has been launching a number of products in partnership with renowned overclocker KIngpIn (Vince Lucido). These are typically made for extreme overclocking scenarios, and represent the very top of EVGA's offerings in terms of materials, build quality, and scarcity of built cards. For now, there's just a simple tease, posted via Vince Lucido's Instagram account, but this serves to surprise virtually nobody: NVIDIA's Turing will also receive the KIngpIn treatment.

Past examples of KIngpIn-branded graphics cards supported features such as improved power delivery systems (increased number of phases and power connectors), as well as some of the most versatile designs ever, with both triple-slot cooling solutions and single-slot adapters. As always, expect the GPUs inside the KIngpIn RTX 2080 Ti to be cherry-picked versions out of EVGA's crops.

The Kingpin, Matrix, Lightning cards were a hard to justify for the 7xx series and back when we had BIOS editor's to raise voltage and power limiters ... but since Boost 3, the beefier VRMs and power delivery systems are being handcuffed by Boost 3 and until we can raise those limits, I don'tthink they will be able to justify the price premium. I think that's where nVidia wasn headed w/ their "partner" program ... the "partner card" would be recognized during driver installation and In think these big beefy partner cards would see more leeway with those restrictions.

Actually, on LN2 the current required for chips in general is lower then when on Air / Water. You could extract way more out of it then you would on air.

But it's just marketing. Pumped up card, VRM and tools that make OC'ing a tad more easyer.

What you mean hard to justify, are you aware how much is mine GTX780Ti K|NGP|N fast on default clock.
Speed is simply not comparable with GTX780Ti reference.
I sold before upgrade to GTX1080Ti buyer was shocked when saw how much is faster and give much higher score than GTX1060 OC or GTX980 Superclocked.
Only GTX980 Classified was just little faster, we talk about 2-3%.
13.700 3DMark Firestrike GPU Score 2014 was amazing.
Tell me how much of you could push GTX780Ti to 13.700 in Firestrike, and that's fabric setting everyday.
I challenged people back in 2014 they couldn't find in whole country model capable to work stable on air and to give such speed.
They need serious mod and watercooling and crash on first graphically demanding games even if they pass 3DMark.
780Ti boost to 928MHz, this boost to 1073MHz but boost in games reported is 1212MHz.

Later ASUS done amazing job with Matrix Gold Maxwell.
They were so fast that hope to find such sample random buying GPU with lower clocks are 1 in 20-30 cases or even 50.
On every K|NGP|N EVGA sold more than 100 other graphic cards.
It's not only high clock and good 3DMark score, they should work at least 3 years without crash in any situation and for that you need space over fabric clock.
You can't sell GPU stable on 1212MHz to crash on 1220MHz... because games and oscilation of clocks will cause instability, you need more space and voltage to give warranty on that card. You need so good silicon, that most of enthusiasts are not even aware that such difference exist at all.

GPU is not like processor to work on 15-30% in games, every game for them is like stress test for CPU and fabric clock count much more than CPU Clock.
Imagine someone to sell i9-9900K with Turbo on all cores 5.2GHz and warranty that will be stable, that's same as premium Graphic cards as K|NGP|N.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
There is literally one/two/few people that post here at TPU who could REALLY use this card. It isn't meant for you daily driver ambient overclocking folks for the most part.
