Well maybe they should use 4x/16x of native resolution and then send it to AI cores and then we wouldn't have loss of detail, darn i forgot Ai cores are too weak for that ;).

You seriously can't be serious trying to say this garbage:
View attachment 112458

Is sharper and has same detail as this:
View attachment 112463

And this:
View attachment 112460

Is sharper with the same detail as this:
View attachment 112464

All the detail of the textures is totally lost with DLSS. It looks like the texture quality settings is set to low with DSLL and high with TXAA. Look at the plants, they just look like green blobs with DSLL.

Even when you look at things up close:
View attachment 112465View attachment 112466

The bricks on the closest wall look worse with DLSS, like the texture is blurry. And the bricks on the far wall, through the grates looks like a blurry mess, and the leaves look terrible too.

You honestly will never be able to convince anyone. People support their bias more than facts on the internet. Its pretty damn clear from those pictures that it looks washed out compared to native resolution. Honestly Nvidia knows it but they also know eyes can easily be deceived cuz no one will look at it with detail. All they will see is numbers and say oh I guess it looks alright lol.

If that is all that matters, people would just play at 1440p or 1080p and let their monitor do the upscaling. In the end, you still get a 4k image. But the reality is image quality matters.

They why not just lower quality to begin with and run it at native resolution? lol!

Better off with fxaa. MOAR blur, now with upscaling to kill detail further. TAA, TXAA, doesn't matter. It's unusable in any game. Gives me a headache and looks like I'm wasted.

Leave it to nvidia to destroy IQ and call it a feature.

Indistinguishable? No, not even close. The difference literally looks like the difference between high texture settings and the lowest possible.

You literally said it was "all" about playable framerates. If it is all about one thing, then anything else, ie image quality, doesn't matter.

I would love to see one more comparison, DLSS vs TAA with lower textures and lower complexity - it would roughly equal what DLSS is giving us. What FPS would we get then in native 4K?

i left some obvious things unsaid.. he he he..

at 4k a 30% performance gain with a few nit picks as regards image quality is well worth having.. but then again we are talking about the nvidia 20xx series with all the the hate baggage that goes with it.. :)

Really looks like s#it to me, total loss of details all across all images. Should have simply name it Blur instead.

I actually play the game too, quality if it went down at all is not noticable at all, most textures are sharper and none are actually jagged in gameplay

I agree with the sentiment that @trog100 brought up - @ 4K, it is more important to have higher FPS and a more stable/fluid experience. Slight loss in quality is acceptable.

Without DLSS, the user has to manually lower graphical settings anyway to get to the same framerate/fluid experience. Which in turn will result in even more noticeably lower image quality.

At the end of the day the real issue with DLSS is that is is limited to 4K only and available in just a single title right now.

Here's the catch, this isn't 4K, nor does it look like 4K. It looks very much like a straight upscale from 1440p because that's essentially what this is.

Yup. It uses less samples then TAA and isnt suppose to be as good just "close enough".

Nvidia said:
DLSS allows faster rendering at a lower input sample count, and then infers a result that at target resolution is similar quality to the TAA result, but with roughly half the shading work.

SS is ok but It's really depend on situation.1440p+TA (88fps) vs DLSS ( 67fps). anyway looks like DLSS removes more shadows than other methods.
