Does DVI (any DVI) doesn't support 1080p 144Hz....? I thought it was 1080p 120Hz max?

I don't think its a driver issue if the above is true. ;)
1920x1200 can do 154 Hz so...yeah.

Ok, I found a way to avoid the black screen of death.

Apparently it happens if the TV is set to full RGB in AMD Settings.

Hardware bugs, software bugs. Hell of a purchase.
Figured it would be the TV. Could easily be because extra color data is sending the cable over what it is capable of handling.

Not sure why it's saying higher voltage than it should. VDDC on my RX 590 is at 0.95v but it is running at idle clocks (300 MHz).

Edit: Might be low ASIC quality on that card. You can check ASIC quality via GPU-Z -> Advanced -> ASIC Quality. The card might be overvolting itself to stay stable.

I'm referring to voltage at load.

Multi-monitor has nothing to do with GPU core voltage.
That's a lie. AMD runs higher clocks at idle when running multiple monitors and in turn, runs higher voltages. It also tends to keep VRAM clocked up (although HBM seems to be a little more flexible, but it's still clocked up to some degree.) I've had this behavior with my current Vega 64, the 390, and two 6870s. This is literally how AMD cards work. As far as the higher voltage under load, the highest power state likely has a pretty high voltage, the last power state on my Vega is 1.2v which is really high, but at stock power cap it doesn't stay at the top power state for very long because power consumption exceeds the cap if it does. If you don't like the voltage, then try undervolting it.

None of these issues appear to be issues with the card, but rather with how you're using it. The reality is that, it was your setup all along.

I have 3 DP ports that are useless.

I can't use full RGB on my TV.

Card that is overheating and throttling unless I reduce voltage by 50mV.

And there are no multiple monitors since yesterday.

RX 500 series released April 2017, and still feel like a beta GPU, with beta drivers.

Needs too much attention... way too much.

Or a GTX1060 6G, which is pretty much the same price as the RX 580, performs the same, overclocks better, doesn't use as much power, and doesn't put out as much heat...

It's too late for that.

And easier to overclock, Nvidia Display Driver just crashes. MSI Afterburner works even better.

On AMD, you need to "find" artifacts.

Honestly I really feel srry for your bad experience but If anything I have GREAT time with my RX 480 Red Devil and yes I been using this card especially for my multi-monitor setup(3) and same like you I previously have GTX 970......All of this looks really weird and I still do not believe that XFX could make such a huge mistake in manufacturing.....GL anyway.....

RX 580 when overclocked (and undervolted) scores 2000 points more than GTX 970 in Fire Strike.

I need to get aftermarket cooler like Accelero Xtreme IV and AMD needs to fix all the bugs in their drivers.

Previous version failed to overclock memory without locking up the entire system. Now its working better.

A glutton for punishment I see. :p

Why do you insist on using a faulty card? Why not rma?

Its not a faulty card, its a faulty PCB design.

I sorted most of the problems with a grounding wire.

The rest of the issues are driver bugs.

GTX 970 ran perfectly with full RGB, PS4 runs perfectly with full RGB, RX 580 runs perfectly with full RGB until the system is rebooted.

The overvolting issue is something that can be fixed easily.

With a better cooler, this card has a lot of overclocking potential. Temperature and noise are the limiting factors.

Potato, Potatoe... its faulty is the point and not working for you.

With a properly functioning card, you do not have to:

1. Fix it
2. Buy an aftermarket cooler and spend more money
3. Wait/Hope/Pray a driver will fix whatever issue is caused by the driver.

Anyhoo. GL! :)

Yep....Undervolting it´s important when it comes to the OC with this cards......sometimes you can reach much higher clock with more +mv on gpu core but the final score/performance could be worst....also if you have samsung memory on that card you should easily OC at least at around 2200Mhz.......

I had an XFX like that for a couple of hours. I returned it since it got over 82ºC while the fans were loud for my ears. I stay away from this cooler type from XFX. Waiting and hoping to get a Vega 64 cheap or for AMD to deliver Navi, with Vega64 performance, since i wanted to use the bloody Freesync feature of my 1440p monitor for two years now.

Where did you attach the grounding wire? If it has anything to do with ground pins on your 8-pin cable then I would be looking for a burnt/loose ground connector in your PSU wiring/board.

Edit: Although I would find it odd that you don't have problems with the 970. Anyway, I don't believe you got two bad cards with the same problems. Did you verify serial numbers that the seller didn't just send you the same card again?

Did you try removing the Ups? I have used Polaris since release, mostly sapphire but asus too ,480 and 580 and ALLWAYS used multi monitor Dp and hdmi with no issues , it's too odd bro, still.

This has nothing to do with your case but I've use nVidia cards since RivaTNT. The two times I tried an ATi/AMD card, the X850 XT which I bought, then the HD 7870 which was borrowed, have been an absolute shit show. I promised myself never am I going to try AMD again.
