Massive problems with RTX series cards artifacting and dying

My 2070 seems to have begun to die too....
I have shuttering , randomly artifacts and crashes after 3-4 hours gaming (fixing with downclocking memory -200).
More simple games like a COH2, Skyrim vanila, New Vegas causing artifacts and crashing after 10-15 minutes gaming. BUT the card passes (on stock clocks) the Time Spy Extreme Stress Test (20min x3 loops) and Superposition Benchmark (1 hour)...
Card remaining 3 months...
I dont know how to RMA card with this issue....

If this is a generalized issue with Micron GDDR6, what are the odds of Nvidia and Micron being forced to recall these cards?

Reason I ask is, anecdotal evidence suggests a big percentage of these cards are failing, but statisticaly speaking, how high does the failure rate have to be before either company acknowledges the issue?

MS denied the red ring of death issue for over two years before they finally starting replacing dead Xbox 360s under a three year free extended warranty, I know cuz my first 360 was out if the original warranty period when I had to request a "coffin" shipping box from MS.

And if this is indeed a widespread problem, eventually, every single card will fail, it's only a matter of time.

Thing is, as of now we only know of a very vocal minority who has been affected by this problem, I mean, when the Xbox 360s in the wild starting dropping like flies, it was all over the news, and MS couldn't hide from that fact, whereas now, this is only spreading by "word of mouth" in a few forums and YouTube videos...

maybe it has to do with the number of sales? there may not be as many rtx cards in the wild and the ones that are may not be getting used enough for the problem to show up. most people who own pascal, polaris, or vega probably will skip this series and that will just keep the issue more hidden. if this is the case i can see it being more of a problem in the second hand market 2 years from now. kinda like the random black screening the r9 290/x would do randomly. this all just guessing tho.

Yes, that's a good point, Nvidia already admitted sales of Turing cards fell beyond their expectations.

But, even then, there has to be a threshold beyond not even Nvidia will be able to hide the fact cards are failing above the expected average failure rate, regardless of how many cards they've sold.

I'm not going to read the rest of your post since the initial part is wrong. It has been posted at least 100 times on this forum that the issues happen with both Samsung and Micron based cards.

Doesn't matter if you said if or not. People need to stop perpetuating this is a micron issue.

If nvidia has isolated the issue they will end up replacing the cards on the shelf with something that is an updated revision. For all we know it could be anything from a poorly designed memory controller that fails to TSMC based issues with their well known failure.

Like I said in my post, what's the statistical significance of failure rate, based on word of mouth and a few YouTube videos?

Do you have access to that information? What does it matter if it is a Micron of Samsung issue, if it really is an issue, all cards will eventually die.

Oh, I forgot you chose not to read the rest of my post, so either way, the misinformation keeps being perpetuated as you said.

I'm not trying to start an argument, all I'm saying is, if this is, as a matter of fact an issue, all I want is for Nvidia to address it and extend the warranty of a defective product I purchased from them, if not, it's all moot point to me at the moment, I have a genuine interest in knowing if this issue is real.

It's a shame, theres been a few decent offers for the 2070 and 2060 lately but seeing how even the TU106 GPU's are being affected I think ill hold off a while yet

you have a real warranty in the UK i bought my palit 2080ti from Ebuyer.. when it failed i had no problem getting it replaced.. it took about seven days and the warranty starts again from scratch..

if you want one i would buy one just make sure its from a reputable source and not some unknown ebay deal..

Oh the issue is real, but how big it is, time will tell.

It really feels like we are in the down slope of this issue... peaking back December of 2018. The initial blowup of cards has seemed to be at a trickle (more normal) now.

Artifacting is usually a VRAM issue. Nvidia initially went with the shitty Micron chips and after that utter failue they went with the higher quality Samsung chips. Most of the issues have been resolved. If you were an early adopter then RMA your card.

But the thing is RMA the early adopter cards if possible.
