i just bought a steam bargain for £8 quid.. three crysis games including crysis 2..
"will it play crysis" it seems my 8700K cpu 2080ti machine wont play the original crysis.. at least not without some serious messing about..
it was as laggy as hell basically unplayable.. putting out 140 fps but as laggy as hell..
it seems crysis back in the day was never expected to produce much more than 30 fps.. its totally single threaded.. it seems my 8700K at 4.8 gig aint up to the job of powering crysis at 140 fps..
i have got it going by running my 2080ti card at 50% power and frame capping it at 60 fps.. for a 2007 game its remarkably pretty even by todays standards and at the current steam price its well worth a buy..
odd though that a 2007 game is totally cpu bound with a 8700K cpu.. it would probably be okay with a lesser gpu but it cant keep up with a 2080ti.. this is the first time i have ever seen a cpu bound game.. it took me a while to figure out what was going on but that was what it was..
