Control or Speed? That's the question. Razer delivers both with a single product group: the well-renown Goliathus, which is available in two surface types, four print designs, and four different sizes. It also comes with a unique rubber backing and stitched edges for maximum durability.

Yea, I have that one.. Goliathus M, speed. Works fine. I liked Taito from Roccat long time ago, sadly its sorta picky on what sensor works on it and what doesnt. Definitely wasnt friendly to my ex-GPro.

You should also compare to your cheap Chinese pads, which apparently aint bad. :D

One thing about Razer pads, they not so great to clean.. Stuff somehow gets stucked into it rather easily and surface might get some scratches, if your mouse feets are not perfect. Its sorta delicate material, so to speak..

I had many before my currrent ss dex but now I'm never going back.had it for a year and it functions like brand new, perfect glide with the right amount of precision and control. taito after a year worked like shieeet and was never that good to begin with, not for a person who likes to go easy on dpi but moves the mouse a lot, like me.I need to have a smooth and fast glide.

My first thought when I saw the reviewed item. There like bazillion copies. Actually there are SO many 3mm pads out there, I don't think it matters any more what brand. Now if you are looking for 1mm thickness it gets interesting. :) Logitech for DA win.

As for flatness, the Goliathus models need some time to lay out completely, which can take up to a few days—there should be no issues in regards to that after a few days.

This is a huge letdown for me, and is something I have associated with cheap pads. Is it true for many higher end pads?

I owned an original one back around 2010. I only got rid of it because the surface started to peel off of the pad at the corner. I owned it for a few years. I got a newer one where the edges are stitched so no more fraying. That newer one is ~5 years old and still fine...I use it as a glass coaster now

Due to a new desk I bought, I got the extended one. Unless the stitching is poorly done (it isn't), I expect it to last for a very long time. They are solid albeit pricey.

I can't say I've shared the same experience. Actually the opposite in fact. Never gotten anything sticky to become so stuck to it to give me trouble. Then again, I clean things up like that immediately. With the material, I can often rub something out.

Mine came out good as new out of the gentle cycle (no softener). Feels the same, works the same.

This is a huge letdown for me, and is something I have associated with cheap pads. Is it true for many higher end pads?

I dunno about others, but Razer rolls them up into the box for distribution. Frankly, even right out of the box I didn't have any difficulties.
