Hi, a friend of mine has an ASUS X555LD notebook with a 4th gen core i7 u series, 8gb of ram, gt 820m. Suddendly the hard disk stop working and assuming that was the problem, she bought an SSD. The problem continues and we saw that the HDD board, in the sata data port, was mildly broken. The question is: are these hdd boards weak? In Argentina they sell this hdd board for the ASUS X555 but the revision is 3.6 and the one in her machine is revision 2.0. Will it work anyway? The seller couldn't tell me if it will be compatible. Thanks!

Presume you mean the main board fitted to the laptop ?
Ask Seller for good Quality Pictures ( both sides of the Board ) and then compare them to your Board
You or someone will have to Disasemble the Laptop to compare

The board has this one separated from the mainboard. It's called hdd board. A cable give it power to function. The one in the notebook says "revision 2.0" and the only one for sale here in Argentina says "revision 3.6". I am asking if the 3.6 rev will work on the notebook that has a broken 2.0 rev. Thanks!

I know I've read about how HDD's are picky with logic board revisions in the past, but that was a long time ago.

It's worth a try, but there are no guarantees here.
I hope she gets it working!

Edit: Now I see, it's a laptop model specific board, not a HDD logic board. My bad.

You should have no issues with a new board. :toast:

I think you're good to go. I wouldn't expect any issues with this replacement part. I misunderstood before. :)

Thanks! The revision is only an updated version of the hdd board? Nothing to worry about then? Thanks again!
