In a recent submission to the Final Fantasy XV Benchmark database, upcoming new NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super GPU has been benchmarked. The new submission is coming just a few days before the Super series officially launches. On benchmark's tests, RTX 2070 Super has scored 7479 points at 1440p resolution on high quality settings, which is almost 12% increase from previous generation 2070, which scored 6679. The performance seem to be attributed to increased CUDA core count, which is rumored to increase about 11%, making the result seem pretty realistic.

When compared to AMD's upcoming Radeon 5700 XT, which also got submitted to FFXV Benchmark database and has scored 5575 at same settings, the RTX 2070 Super is about 34% faster.

Healthy performance uplift. Nice to see.
Thinking about upgrading to a 2080 super. We'll see.

Wishful thinking. Nvidia has demonstrated that they are more than willing to milk customers on the same gen for as long as they possibly can

This Super series is to me, a missed opportunity of putting in better, more efficient, or just more hardware for Ray Tracing capability, the cards name sake, that so far as been proven to be brutally performance killing.

Yeah, really the title of this article should be about the difference between the RTX2070 and the RTX2070 Super.
What this benchmark shows regarding the 5700XT is I guess, kinda interesting to know (like that it beats the Radeon VII), but thats it, its not really what its about.

RTX 2070S an official designation or the author just being a little lazy?

I'm still a hard pass on this generation. Both NVIDIA and AMD have decided to to move their mid tier cards a rank up in regards to pricing and Steam HW Survey clearly shows that people are not interested in this price gauging and shenanigans. 2060S for $400? What the fück? Are you serious? GTX 960 was introduced at $199. GTX 760 cost $250 but it was still a decent deal.

Of course we have Ray Tracing/Tensor cores castrated 16xx cards but they should have never been priced that high to begin with.

RTX 2070S an official designation or the author just being a little lazy?

Twitter/VideoCardz and various websites call them this way to ease the pain of typing " SUPER". No, NVIDIA doesn't call them this way. People do.

Yes. Agreed. The real story isn't a benchmark that's biased towards Nvidia. You can only digest so much salt these days.
The real story is that the RTX 2070 Super ups performance by 12% over its non-Super namesake, and (according to some less-than-reputable sources) will maintain non-Super RSP launch pricing, while pushing the non-Super prices down.

As a person who recently bought the RTX 2060, I'm curious to see how better RTX 2060 Super is, as it's no longer hog-tied by the 192-bit memory bus and the 6 GB frame buffer. I think that'll be the biggest surprise of all... It'll basically be just shy of the original RTX 2070.

something is not right here, some one really mess up

i remember vega 64 was close to 1080 number

now we see vega 7 have the same number 1660ti?

and 1080 have higher number even than 5700 xt

no make sense at all

healty uplift is 60% no less. in the case of 2070 we need to see RTX 3070 with 3072 cuda and clock speed bump of the 7nm shrink. 2080 super looks lucrative but not for long. Even 2080Ti is not fast enough.

The FF15 Benchmark have always been like this, take it as a worse case scenario for anything non-nVidia.
The benchmark is not even reflective on how the real game actually runs.
Good to see the RX5700XT is firmly ahead of the Radeon VII in this benchmark though.

FFXV Benchmark?
If Nvidia had created a benchmark, it would have been favoring Nvidia cards MUCH LESS, to make it look more balanced and honest.

FF15 benchmark is basically like an Nvidia demo, it's not even representative on actual gameplay performance. In game AMD cards usually perform similarly to their Nvidia counterparts. For example the RX 580 beats the GTX 1060, the Vega 56 beats the GTX 1070, etc...

I would never use this benchmark, heck I wouldn't use built in benchmarks either, most of the time they are just optimized demos for the company sponsoring them, be it Nvidia or AMD. Actual gameplay is where its at.

Look where the RX 5700 XT is compared to the Radeon VII which has about three billion more transistors. That's the real news here: Navi is better able to tolerate NVIDIA's GimpWorks BS than Vega.

That might finally be a worthy upgrade for someone using an 1080 (non Ti), assuming the price is not through the roof.

Although I think it's probably better to keep it one more year if it doesn't break, and just see what 2020 has to offer in GPUs.... current year upgrades are just not good enough.
(I personally consider upgrading GPU when performance is near 2X (or above), just 50% added isn't good enough. Other people have other criteria of course)

2080 Ti is indeed more than 2x faster than 1080, but the price is also 2x higher so... auch. Nope.

Yeah ironically Navi might be more similar to how nvidia do things. Less theoretical performance, but more actual performance. ;)

So according to the troll who made this photo the 5700xt will be just %10 faster than the Legendary, the mighty Super duper 1660ti?
And a "1660ti Super" will be enough to deal with 5700xt?

Hey the 1660 Ti is a great card for the money, the fact it is mixing it with the legendary 980 Ti and super duper popular GTX 1070 confirm that. As has been stated and is well known this be benchmark doesn't do AMD any favours generally.
