Ghost Games, an Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) studio, today announced Need for Speed Heat, the ultimate street racer versus cop fantasy. The game deepens and expands everything Need for Speed fans love - expressive customization, authentic urban car culture, and an immersive narrative that pulls you into the game. Watch the announce trailer here.

"Our fans have been clear that they want more cars, more customization, and more challenges, and we're tuning up on every aspect. From your character's style to your car's performance and your driving style, we're fuelling everyone's creativity with this new game."

Need for Speed Heat sends fans to Palm City, a brand-new open world where street racers have gathered to make their names known. By day, players compete in the Speedhunters Showdown, a sanctioned competition where they earn Bank to customize and upgrade their garage of high-performance cars. At night, players risk it all to build their Rep in underground races where a rogue police task force roams the streets, ready to take racers down and swipe all their earnings. The roads, the risks, and the rides never end in this street racer where a player can roll deep with their crew, build their garage full of hot cars, and make the city their nonstop playground.

"We're delivering more options than ever before for players to be unique and make themselves known," said Riley Cooper, Creative Director at Ghost Games. "Our fans have been clear that they want more cars, more customization, and more challenges, and we're tuning up on every aspect. From your character's style to your car's performance and your driving style, we're fuelling everyone's creativity with this new game."

Fans who pre-order the standard edition will get a K.S Edition styled Mitsubishi Evolution X. Pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition adds three K.S Edition styled cars (BMW i8 Coupe, Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe, Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport), access to exclusive deluxe edition character clothing, and increased earnings of in-game currencies Bank and Rep. Anyone who pre-orders Need for Speed Heat in-game from Need for Speed Payback on any format will also get a 10% discount as a Loyalty Reward 1.

Need for Speed Heat launches November 8, 2019 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Jump into the game first on November 5, 2019 with EA Access and Origin Access Basic to enjoy up to 10 hours of play time as part of the Play First Trial, or sign-up for Origin Access Premier to get full access on PC.

To join the conversation, players can like Need for Speed page on Facebook, or follow the Need for Speed channels on Twitter, Instagram and YouTube. Players can also sign up to the franchise's email list to get the latest news, updates, behind-the-scenes content, exclusive offers, and more (including other EA news, products, events, and promotions).

Loyalty Reward discount does not stack with Access. Must pre-order through in-game menu in Need for Speed Payback

I wonder, when EA will understand, that a racing game does not need story, characters etc... What it needs is nice, interesting tracks, lots of cars to choose from and a good (but still arcade) driving physics.

EA, take NFS to the next level already, please
Open world with free roam, real-time events, large selection of cars, fine tuning, full aesthetics, rare drops

MMO-ize NFS already. Let me have a car i worked hard for, so i could take it for joyrides and compete in open races that fit its technical capabilities

This requires competent people at the helm of EA. And... well, no further words needed.

Also, wasn't there already a MMO NFS. It got shut down a while ago tho.

With your computer specs, check out Need for speed Porsche unlimited on the PC.
The game is an oldie, i think it came out in 2001.
It really depends on what you like, give us more details on what you like.

Oh they did do that, and it was called NFS: World, and, due to EA being EA, they riddled it with microtransactions until the game finally choked itself to death.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this one, due to knowing there will be no loot boxes, and the customization was reverted back from stupid card upgrades. The concept of the game is actually pretty nice, legal day racing, and illegal night racing.

Of course, the driving model is what will make or break this. Ever since they based the NFS games on Burnout driving model things sucked (apart from Hot Pursuit 2010, that driving fit that game perfectly) so that will decide (for me) if this is worth it. Also the soundtrack, the more variety the better, or at least less amount of trap music.

The voice over was stupid in that trailer, the only one that can pull a monologue like that off would be Vin Diesel.

Yeah, Need for Speed World.
Imagine a NFS game with extra grind and some pay to win mechanics… and rammers.

Yeah, if I wanted burnout I would have gotten burnout.
NFS is an arcade racer, but it needs to have a bit of realism there.

As for the music, I always turn that off in NFS games now, and have my only playlist playing instead (mostly because I cannot stand 90% of modern music)

"Our fans have been clear that they want more cars, more customization, and more challenges, and we're tuning up on every aspect. From your character's style to your car's performance and your driving style, we're fuelling everyone's creativity with this new game."

That sounds like a lot of $$$ DLC and lots of RNG lootbox unlocks.
It's also EA, so even if they claim otherwise, their track record just means they're probably lying.

I wonder, when EA will understand, that a racing game does not need story, characters etc... What it needs is nice, interesting tracks, lots of cars to choose from and a good (but still arcade) driving physics.

I can't stand racing games without Story, characters, goals and the feel of progress. But that might Just be me.

I loved "Most Wanted", which had a story a characters. But I have to admit it was pretty generic and only a reason to race.
