ASUS today launched its TUF Gaming X3 Radeon RX 5700-series "Navi" graphics cards. The TUF Gaming series is positioned a notch below the company's premium ROG Strix RX 5700-series, and above its cost-effective custom-design Dual-series. A common board design is used for both the RX 5700 XT and the RX 5700. It features a macho-looking plastic cooler shroud with the TUF "urban camo" pattern. There's also a metal backplate with the same pattern. The card is based on a custom-design PCB that's shorter than that of the ROG Strix card.

The triple-slot cooling solution of the TUF Gaming X3 Radeon RX 5700-series features a compound aluminium fin-stack heatsink much like the ROG Strix, albeit slightly smaller. Three 80 mm fans ventilate it, although the cooler lacks idle fan-stop. The fans feature IP5X-certified dust-resistance and fluid-dynamic bearings with a "space-grade lubricant." Both cards come with factory-overclocked speeds. The TUF Gaming X3 RX 5700 XT ships with 1650 MHz base, 1795 MHz "gaming" clocks, and 1905 MHz boost; while the TUF Gaming X3 RX 5700 ships with 1565 MHz base, 1720 MHz "gaming" clocks, and 1750 MHz boost. Both cards feature software-based one-click "OC" modes that dial up clock speeds by around 4 percent, which require you to install the GPUTweak utility. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Why'd they even bother with vent holes on the PCI bracket it's not like heat is going out there not the orientation of the fins on that HSF and also why 80mm fans that's just going to sound like shit at higher rpms unless you're going low profile then it makes sense but in a desktop case pfft noisey waste of time

everything is called a freaking "launch" nowadays. I am so sick of seeing this BS in the titles of articles and then you find most of time there is no pricing or even actual launch date. G.SKILL is probably about the worst as they will "launch" stuff that will not actually be released for up to 6 months sometimes and in some cases NEVER even gets released at all.

So it's not a launch...

They're up for pre-order over here. 518,90€ for the 5700 XT and 448,90€ for the 5700. The Strix are even more expensive. Compare that to 454,90€ and 394,90€ for the MSI EVOKE cards and I think we should all collectively tell Asus to go suck it.

Note: 23% tax here, probably cheaper elsewhere in Europe.

Not only that but also the heatsink is same type as was on R9 290X ASUS cards, direct contact. So it means only one or two of those heatpipes will be effective and cooling will be shit. And GPU temperature(not Junction Temperature) will be on 90° celsius.

Does not look very good. Curious for a review, but not seriously considering with those small fans...

I am waiting for Asus Rog, MSI Gaming, Gigabyte Aorus variants. It seems that these brands are still nVidia exclusive this round, meaning the notorious nVidia deal are still running in shadow.

That is a smart move more perfomance and less cosmetic/aesthetics, that cooler is beefy, alot air to escape, thick fins everything made to perform.

It is made for big desktop cases buy-plug and play why you guys are crying ?

I'd be more worried about yet another AMD graphics card from hot supernova nuclear star that needs that cooling power !

Bore your beloved AMD instead of crying about how big graphics cards must be to be cooled ! Those same GPU's from AMD !!

If I see TUF branding on new products, I automatically assume it's trash.

Funny how Asus did a complete 180 for their TUF brand:
TUF Sabertooth = extravagant cooling
TUF Gaming = low-end garbage on the edge of thermal throttling
(slightly exaggerated but you get the point)
