If you're still looking, 30-144 Hz but no HDR:

Pixio PX275h stats: https://docs.wixstatic.com/ugd/349c0f_defa13897bfd47e9b462140e4acc52d6.pdf

I think they're lying about HDR. It's only 350 cd/m2 and minimum VESA HDR is 400 cd/m2. There's not much of a range there for high contrast...

The other concern is they say 95% DCI-P3 but they don't give color depth. 100% sRGB 8-bit (which Nixeus has) is better than 95% DCI-P3 8-bit. You would need 10-bit DCI-P3 95% to beat sRGB 8-bit.
Additionally, sRGB is going to be better for older games and on Windows in general while DCI-P3 is better for films and games made for HDR10 (which there aren't many).
More thorough explanation: https://www.reddit.com/r/Monitors/comments/al9ulj
I think I'd go Nixeus instead. The only disadvantage I see is it's not quite as bright but makes up for it in frequency (30-95 Hz versus 30-144 Hz).

With your budget you can forget about "HDR". There's not a single device that would provide you with a true HDR experience for that amount of money.

@FordGT90Concept - technically they're not lying about HDR. They aren't using VESA standard branding, i.e. HDR400. It's a marketing trick to fool people into thinking they'll have some amazing experience with their "HDR" monitor. Heck, even HDR400 isn't enough. The cheapest you can get for a satisfactory HDR on a pc "monitor" is that Philips 43" display with HDR1000 and something like 8 dimming zones, but its geared toward console gaming and has some issues when connected to PC related to the pixel array used.

Im in a similar situation as you. I upgraded about 2 years ago from 2x 24" Dell IPS monitors that i LOVED to an Acer Predator x34 (3440x1440) and I want to start streaming more. My issue is that even though I absolutely love the monitor I have now, I am considering going to 1080p again just to stream. The monitor has to have a high refresh rate (at least 144) and be IPS and 27". But I do not know if I would like it and losing all that screen real estate.

For me, this is my checklist:

165 Hz, 2560 x 1440
Response Time < 5 .0 ms (real, not what manufacturer advertises)
Combined Lag < 5.0 ms (real, not what manufacturer advertises)
ULMB or equivalent Motion Blur Reduction technology (120 fps)
AuOtpronics 10 bit IPS panel

Acer XB271HU and Asus P279Q meet these specs but Asus has recently switched to an 8 bit panel. There's Freesync version for Asus is MG279Q that you can look at but they don't have any MBR technology.... The G-Sync models from Asus and Acer listed are 165 hz, I have not seen Freesync models that are 165hz. But these are outta range at $525 and up.

The Asus Freesync 144 hz model is $450 so a bit outta ya budget range. Acer has a very good TN version which can be had for $325

Acer has an IPS screen for under $350

Acer Nitro Gaming VG271U Pbmiipx 27" Black IPS LED HDR400 FreeSync Monitor
2560x1440 Widescreen 16:9 1ms VRB Response Time 144Hz Refresh rate 400 cd/m2 1000:1
right now it's $299 w/ + $20 off w/ promo code EMCTDTC25, limited offer

It has an 8+2 bit Innolux IPS-type (M270KCJ-K7B) panel.... its the same panel used in the Gigabyte Aurus reviewed at the link below. As expected, it has some issues not seen in the AUOptronic pabels but they cost a lot more. And again as expected, the Freesync still has some issues at certain settings and blur reduction mode has some way to go to match G-Sync's ULMB. But of course, that G-Sync ULMB hardware module costs money. Acer has been at this quite a bit longer and I expect they will do a bit better at the overshoot and perhps someother issues as well. yes, there's things to pick on, but it has be be taken in context that this is a $300 monitor and can't be expect to compete with the $550 ones.

"The Aorus AD27QD is an interesting option in the gaming market, and it's nice to see a new manufacturer emerge with something a bit different to offer. We were impressed by the massive range of features, options and extras provided with this screen which gives it a premium feel and something that enthusiasts are going to enjoy tweaking, updating and optimising over time. Gigabyte have done a good job with the performance too and we were pleasantly surprised by the capabilities of the new Innolux IPS-type panel they've opted to use, in place of the well-established AU Optronics panel used by most of the competition.

Gaming is the primary focus of this screen of course and we felt the screen performed well overall. Some areas were excellent, including the input lag, high refresh rate capability and massive range of extras and options. Along with the native FreeSync support, Gigabyte have even had the screen certified as G-sync Compatible by NVIDIA which should give some further assurances about its VRR capabilities. Response times were on the whole pretty good, and behaved similarly to many other FreeSync screens. They were particularly good at maximum refresh rate, although perhaps being pushed a little too hard at the cost of a bit of overshoot. They were a bit more variable for lower settings and in VRR situations. That's one area where we've seen better stability and performance from hardware G-sync module screens, with many FreeSync models struggling in the same way as this model. That's not to say that performance isn't good at lower refresh rates and with VRR, it's just not as fast as it maybe could be. One area which wasn't so good was the blur reduction mode, which had too much strobe cross talk, poor peak luminance, reduced contrast ratio and lack of much user control. Perhaps it can be improved for a future firmware release, but right now we didn't find it very useful.

The IPS-type panel provided typical all round solid performance with wide viewing angles and good colour rendering. The use of a wide gamut backlight separates this from most other gaming screens at the moment and will be welcome for gaming and multimedia by most people we're sure. There is an sRGB emulation mode options offered which is useable, but a bit inflexible in terms of user control sadly. Not perfect, but something. Default setup was good and there was a strong contrast ratio for an IPS panel. We won't talk too much more about the HDR capabilities, or lack of, but that is common on most screens of this kind of range anyway."

As for alternatives, whatever you look at, make sure that you check the real specs at tft central. If its worth having, it's been tested on TFTcentral. Also they do a good job of explaining oft confused terms like "Bleed" vs "IPS glow". The latter will be found on every IPS panel where the former is not generally found on quality units. It is much more noticeable on a wide curved screen as it is more visible the further you get from the center of screen.

Bleed or Backlight Leakage - https://www.tftcentral.co.uk/features.htm#backlight
IPS Glow - https://www.tftcentral.co.uk/features.htm#ips-glow

Going to bring this thread back as I never got one but now I’m considering 1080p @144Hz

So my options 1080p 144Hz, ultrawide 75Hz, or 1440p 60Hz/144Hz

My vote is 2560 x 1440 @144.

Although not sure how the 1070/5700xt will cope with that. If they can't hit 100fps+ at settings you deem acceptable then I would go with 1080@144.

Edit:

For the record, I am 3440 x 1440 @ 144 and I am in a little bit of a bind. My Vega 56 is no where near capable of driving this res at settings I deem acceptable. I need a 2080 Super minimum and really a 2080 ti for good measure. If you want a rough estimate of fps for 3440 x 1440, add about 25% - 30% to 4k benchmarks. It isn't exact but it is close.

I've thought about picking up a 5700XT as bandaid but it still isn't going to net over 100fps. Really don't want to buy a 2080S either as other gpus are really only a few months away.

So if you were considering 3440 x 1440, take into consideration that your GPU likely isn't good enough.

Initially I was looking at 2560x1080 ultrawide which is 21:9

I have 2560 x 1080 200hz sceptre monitor, but the VA panel is causing some very noticeable pixel bleeding in fast transition scenes... its a bit frustating, if this had been a high quality tn or IPS panel I would have been much happier, the VA smear is extremely noticeable.

I'm leaning towards refunding it, but I have some more testing to do with overdive, etc. I think I might refund it though and just wait for 240hz 1440p 27" that's really my end game monitor. scaling is always perfect even in older games at that rez and size. never run into issues. 28" 4k i always ran into issues of scaling on older games that had no way to change UI, etc.

Because I’ve been seeing a lot of bad views on the Ultrawide 1080p

I’m limited options to 1080p 144Hz and 1440p 60Hz/144Hz

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NHSJ1RF/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_5?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1 $163 2019 model from LG 144hz 1080p... had my eye on it for awhile now, youtube review said it is impressive on colors and viewing angles even compared to nice IPS panels he owns, small time youtuber as well so pretty sure he isn't a shill. great reviews on Amazon.

I'm still considering it. especially since AMD Sharpening is considered to be better than Nvidia's. would make it look quite crisp once turned on.

How is your eyes? I went from 27 to 34 inches and think its great. Putting on some mid-distance reading glasses(1/2 my normal strength for reading) allowed me to sit back and game from several feet away. Something to think about instead of just specs.

I recently got AOC CQ32G1, it's really nice for the price. Only minus is the stand which has only tilt, nothing else. However if you sit very close to the screen a 27" would be better.

I wouldn't recommend any smaller than a 27" then. This monitor lands between the two categories above, trading pixels for ridiculously high framerate on a larger panel (~$300):

RX 5700 XT, I would recommend a 1440p panel.

If budget is an issue, stick to 16:9 because 21:9 is a smaller market with a lower volume of sales so you're paying a premium for the privilege.

There's also mediocre support for non 16:9 displays, though I'm sure you're aware of that already with your 3x1 arrangement, and for me it was enough to sell my ultrawide and spend the money on a premium 16:9. Ultrawide is great when it works, but there's often a caveat and paying extra for the privilege of caveats didn't seem like a win to me.

VA, high-refresh, VRR (G-Sync compatible Freesync) 1440p seems to be the sweet spot right now. I'm finding 31.5" 144Hz Freesync VA to be perfect, especially because I use 23" 1080p displays at work so the pixel density is about the same and 96dpi standard text scaling (Windows 100% scaling) is perfectly comfortable at normal distance.

My viewing distance is about the same and I find the 32" 1440p is great. It's about the same density as 24" 1080p.

I’ve been really leaning toward the 1440p Monitor

My only concern from reviews has been if my 5700 XT can actually driver 1440p above 100Hz

It should be more powerful than my Vega 64 so definitely.

Benchmark Scores Faster than the tortoise; slower than the hare.
My only concern from reviews has been if my 5700 XT can actually driver 1440p above 100Hz
In games it can't, use Radeon Image Sharpening while running at 1080p.
