DDR5 will be launched by Intel and AMD at roughly the same time.
Intel already said DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 are coming in 2021.

In EPYC launch event, AMD stated that future EPYC Milan based on Zen 3 will be socket compatible with existing Zen 2 socket.

In case you missed it: consumer and server CPUs from AMD use different sockets. This has absolutely no implication on AM4.

I'm not sure what's wrong with this slide. Intel's presentations are usually very solid. That's what you're expected to make for a business meeting.
AMD slides that we know about are not internal/corporate, but made for gaming consumers. They are very general and leave a lot for fanboys to interpret and hype about.
For example: you've looked at the "compute architecture roadmap" slide and you said "2020 that's Zen3". But this information isn't there, right?

i havnt had any issues with AMD but i sure see alot of other people with them, if this chip was 100-120$ maybe id consider otherwise why bother? i bought a 3600 for 180 came with a crappy cooler so i guess that was a plus that it came with anything at all, to bad to lazy to use a big tower coole


because intel works and doenst have all these issues like amd, you must have your eyes shut to all the people with loads of constant issues, the 9900k is not expensive at all being 420ish and the boot times for intel are also better.
If the 3500x was 150 with a decent cooler maybe id risk getting it, i havnt had issues with 3600/x470 asrock tachi ultimate but who knows as i dont use it very much, my workstation is a 9900k and never has issues except being a power hog.

1. Yes for sure, they work hard, that's what you see with their products and that's why 70-80% of the customers are now buying AMD when 2-3 years ago only ~10-15% of them bought AMD CPUs. And don't forget the vulnerability issues still present with Intel products. So yes, they work and doesnt't have issues... lol
2. Zen 2 is a a bit newer architecture with backward compatibility with 2 generations of mobos, of course there could be some problems which can be repaired through BIOS updates. And the architecture is much newer then the Core i series.

This kind of chip will lose to The i5s, and to the 2600s. This better be sub 179$. Hell, this better be sub 169$.

What i5s? It's coming against the 9400.

SMT was that convincing advantage AMD always had with those hexa core chips compered to the relatively fast-at-gaming-but-not-much-else Core i5 CPUs. The 2600X with its better cooler, SMT and 149$ price tag will look alluring to those who don't like the fact the 3500 doesn't have it. This chip should cost no more than the 3400G IMO.

The 9400F sells for 140€ in most european stores, this 3500 has to be around these values.

The problem is, price by price and cores by cores, most of the people end up choosing Intel. One of the advantages of Ryzen is precisely that they have more cores/threads for the same or lower cost!

When people see that Ryzen is so popular and is outselling Intel by 70-30 or 80-20 in most countries, they will start forgetting urban legends.

pretty sure most of your post is just made up numbers.

well most of us have waited the past 8 years to upgrade the 3930k or 2500/2600k we had been using. Ryzen 7 1800x has TONS OF ISSUES (sooo happy i didnt buy one of those) , ryzen 3900x HAS TONS OF ISSUEs. Yea intel has some kinda exploits that i really have no idea how it effects me tho. I guess i can google it and see if someone will haxor my box and erase my backed up videos? nothing to worry about here i dont do any financial transactions on my desktop.

the only cpu's i have seen die are amd i love amd but really just what ever is best bang for your buck is my pick. (with exception of ryzen 1)

Intel security exploits say hello

ok and i see amd has alot of the same exploits and will have more everyday, its not like exploits only happen to intel they happen to everything and the most popular brands are found first. So what should i worry about with these exploits? When i talk about issues i talk about it flat out not working not a exploit that every product on earth seems to have. This haxor will go through firewall and run exploits to get my browser cookies that have no relevant data except which tv shows i watch? Hope they dont work on snapdragon 845 / 855

Why would anyone buy a 3500X?

Why not? How about better IPC and much better performance in gaming. SMT ain't everything and doesn't matter much in games. Zen 2 has much better IPC and has much better gaming improvements vs zen1. For 150-160 I would easily rock this thing in a cheap build. its really a good 6 core chip that should be much better in games then 2600 and 2600x.

2020 is the year when Zen3 comes out, but it's also a year during first half of which Ryzen 3000 will remain their most modern product line.
For me it's been always obvious that "until 2020" means that in 2020 they'll launch a new socket. It also makes way more sense linguistically.

AMD doesn't give an explicit socket roadmap, so it's really down to interpretation of a pieces of marketing texts or badly made slides.
Frankly, that's one of the reasons why I try to stay away from this company (both as a consumer and investor)...

Anyway, next year we'll see who was right. ;-)

You troll amd so hard its funny as hell. AM4 Until 2020 means in 2020. Its like you read and tell yourself what you wanna hear and support your own bias. They already said zen 3 is going to be improvement over zen 2 and not a big leap that is going to be zen 4. They way they have x570 chipset as higher end its certainly going to last through 2020 for their next chip. I don't see AMD releasing another chipset in another year. Zen 4 will be the next major revision as that is a few years out. Makes too much sense right?

R5 3500X is essentially a R5 3600 without extra threads & a slightly lower boost clocks. If the $155 price tag is true then there is a market for people who want it.
