I don't think you understand. You have to pay the monthly price and the cost of the game. They may have some games as part of a "Stadia Pass" but the majority of the games will be full price and have to be purchased before they are streamed.

"Pro subscribers will also receive PlayStation Plus/Xbox Live Gold-style benefits, including discounts on game purchases and free games released at a "regular cadence." The first of these freebies, Destiny 2, will be available to Pro subscribers at launch in a package including all current and future expansions plus the ability to transfer an existing Guardian from the PC or Xbox edition (PS4 transfers are currently "pending approval by Sony"). These free titles will remain accessible as long as users maintain their monthly subscription. "

"Aside from free titles on the Pro tier, all Stadia games will be purchased on an a la carte basis. "

As this is a brand new game, and there is no indication it is part of the "Pro" subscription, you're going to be stuck paying $60 for the game, and then paying $10 EVERY MONTH to be able to stream it in 4k or HDR. So you can wait a couple years to see if it's ever added to the "Pro" free games, or you could buy it for your gaming computer...

oh crap, huh i thought those initial games were all streamable under the pass ala xbox game pass style subscription... hmm... im going to read a few more articles but i think you are right, looks like i am cancelling my sub after all... i thought doom eternal, all of those it had listed were part of the $9.99 a month pass...

Yeah this is the big issue with Google Stadia, they've done a really bad job communicating what that subscription is for. You're basically just renting a sky console, getting bad lag and artifacts for your trouble, and then you have to purchase the games unless they are thrown in as freebies. From what we've seen with the Playstation and Xbox freebies, they can be good but they're never new third party games.

i really thought it was a good deal cause i thought it was like xbox game pass for pc beta that just game out for 5 bucks a month, which imo, is one hell of a deal, loads of AAA games and indie games i want to play... and only 5 a month, so i figured for 10 a month i was def getting all the games i linked... with the pro pass...

well regardless microsoft is getting my 5 a month, cause i am very impressed with this service on pc, saving me a ton of money.

You would have to wait until next year before it,s a monthly pay like Gamepass.

A definite buy for me.

PCGamer did a review on assassins creed odyssey over stadia, and said there was some latency that caused them to die during a jump, not every time obviously, but it did happen from time to time. not sure if that has been fixed yet or just part of it no matter what.

i am going to give the new playstation a pass a try since its only 10 a month now, as it lets you download the games in full to hard drive, so no latency.

I'm happy to see RDR2 is coming to the PC...i was about to break out my PS4 and play it again. If RDR2 is treated like GTA5 you really can't call it a standard port. Graphics card testers have used GTA5 as a benchmark for a long time. Hopefully, Rockstar has put the same work into RDR2. Maybe they will rework RDR1 or make it an enhanced version and release it as a DLC since RDR1 is really RDR2 and RDR2 is really RDR1. Anyhow I hope my old login info for Rockstar still works. I've not used it in years.

It's also coming to Google Stadia for those that want to stream it in 4k HDR 60 FPS.

I have Stadia pre-ordered. It is supporting a lot of AAA games so far... I just hope the 60 fps and latency doesn't bug me, if it does I will refund it. Google store says you have 14 days refund window for Stadia. but if not, then victory is at hand!!! cause I have 1 gig internet and unlimited data.

One of the worst games for lagia.

Why not 6-month Epic exclusive? Either Timmy boi is running out of money or Take Two share holders are pissed off with low Borderlands 3 PC sales lol

I've already finished this on PS4, honestly I doubt that I'll buy it for PC, especially at full price.

RDR1 could be remastered but from what I've read in the past Rockstar doesn't think it's worth the hassle. They barely got the game working on console at the time. I'm not sure if they would want to rebuild the game from the ground up on a new engine but of course I would like them to. They've probably got everyone working on their next cash cow GTA VI.

I don't think even Epic has the cash to buy exclusive rights from Rockstar. GTA V has made Rockstar wealthy. The last I read 110 million copies sold across all platforms and around 7 billion dollars in revenue generated. The last I read RDR2 has already sold around 25 million copies just on console. It will be a lot more when released on PC.

Stadia is DOA, few will be willing to pay the subscription and the price of the full game to get a stream of questionable quality and latency.

Regardless something shady is going with Google and their product, I heard from several people working at different games studios that there is a bizarre push from upper management for Stadia even in the detriment of other platforms which are clearly more profitable.

This is great news to me. I never got a chance to purchase the RDR2 PS4 Pro bundle. I have no problem waiting until it releases on Steam in December. Playing this at 1440p for the first time will be great. I hope the first RDR gets a HD PC release someday. That game still looks great so many years after the Xbox 360\PS3 release (at least on the Xbox One & X)

Yeah, i was about to type the same thing, the first game went trough rough development hell and in addition to what you said they did try to port it to PC but the game engine kept breaking because of the spaghetti code of the game, this is also why it never got remastered for current gen consoles, try to change something small in the code and the whole thing falls apart

Apparently Epic paid T2/Rockstar to delay the Steam release. Cool stuff.

Source, link?

So you can wait a couple years to see if it's ever added to the "Pro" free games, or you could buy it for your gaming computer...

I'm not even touching Stadia with a ten foot pole. Always online for simple gaming? GTFO

On top of the cost increase for the subscription, you also literally own nothing. If Stadia shuts down, 'poof'

You can have a brief look at Google Glass to see how Alphabet handles failure.

It'll be on Steam in December.

yep i prob will wait for this. i might ask for this for my parents for my Christmas. just a big fan of the wild west thematic, and I think the mod support will be top notch so worth it. i only ask for one thing each Christmas under 100 bucks, def waiting for steam version though

Looking forward to this. It doesn’t bother me at all that it is on Rockstar only for awhile. All my Rockstar games have been bought direct and all these games launch directly from their launcher.

What is so special about this game? The gameplay? The story? Usually western games became pretty boring pretty quick....

All of the above. The game has a large budget and looks great from the trailers. I loved the first Red Dead Redemption title that released last gen. The voice acting and story was really good. The online modes were decent as well. RDR1 pushed the limits of the Xbox 360 and still looks great today on the Xbox One and Xbox One X.

Check out some trailers for RDR2 on Rockstar YouTube page. Check out the reveal trailers first then check out the gameplay trailers and see if you like it or not.
