The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is another addition in the Zelda universe that its fans enjoyed. Being playable on only on Nintendo Switch, and Wii U, so far its audience has been limited to people with access to one of the Nintendo's consoles. However, that is about to change. There is new port of the Zelda: Breath of the Wild, that runs on PC at 4K resolution, with unlocked framerate giving players possibility of achieving more than 60 frames per second, and is playable in VR.

Thanks to a YouTube channel BSoD Gaming, we have footage of Zelda: Breath of the Wild running in VR mode. With a PC powered by Intel Core i7 8700K and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card, this Zelda game is running above 60 FPS at 4K resolution (around 80-100 FPS). VR mode is being handled easily due to the game being not so graphically demanding, so there will be plenty of people who should be able to experience VR mode without too much trouble.

Here you can check out this 12 minute long video of VR gameplay that shows how the game works in the new mode.

If that's emulated via cemu than you need a good cpu since it seems it's really heavy on the cpu. I tried running normal cemu with around normal (albeit optimized in the emulator and nvidia settings) settings in 4k with my i7-8700 non-K and rtx 2080 super and although the cpu is not so far behind of the unlocked version at stock I'm feeling like I'm heavily bottlenecked by my cpu since 1440p and 1080p both showed around the same significantly lower fps of 30-45 despite having similar hardware. But bsod is running on 5 GHz and when looking at these fps... it seems as if this emulator is highly frequency dependent and my cpu hang around 4.5 GHz while playing. I've seen threads on reddit about that as well complaining that they can't even reach 60 fps with high-end pcs.

idk which build you tried running, but CEMU has been greatly optimized in the last year. I have R5 3600 and RTX 2060 Super, and i play in 1440P game locked at 60fps. And my CPU is basically the same performance as i 7 8700. You must follow BSOD lates tutorial and get a shader cache for your version of the game somewhere on the internet. Otherwise you will get constant stutter and fps drops because the game is constantly building shader cache as you play.

Daily reminder that sharing/downloading a shader cache is illegal, as it contains game code.

My 2600X and 1070 can hit 70-90 FPS at 1440P in BOTW, and my 6500T and 1050 Ti laptop can get into the 40s at 1080P. Methinks you're doing something wrong. Even my old 2600K and 780 could run the game significantly better than the console could.

Maybe he forgot to use tri-core.

Could've also forgotten to let the shader cache fully build. Performance tanks when it's building.

Vulkan's SPIR-V solves that.

I just checked the attached images and they have no stereoscopic effect. So I don't know where those came from, but if they're indicative of the end result, it's going to be pretty disappointing. Really just looks like they copied the image to two views and pretended it's a VR screenshot.

I feel I should clarify for those who haven't figured it out, but the game is being emulated through Cemu, which is a Wii U emulator. It isn't a PC port of the game (as awesome as that would be).

It already runs so well it could even be considered that. Even AMD can reach some 20 to 25FPS, and any compatible Nvidia card (besides Fermi IIRC) will get you (way) over 30.
