This is why morden cases run hot they are designed with aesthetics in mind and have very little room for intakes like laptops

I see casings with a solid front-end piece, I don't give a thumbs up. Aesthetics > functionality, huh? screw that. Also, TPU... please do an in-depth testing for thermals. It's too short of a review. I rather just go to GN or other tech-tuber for those sort of reviews.

Don't forget that the "Editor's Choice" award is present and correct here too, despite the lack of any testing. (And despite Darksaber giving more awards out than he's reviewed cases)

@GlacierNine it doesn't mean anything if the case perform poorly in thermals. Just because it has vertical GPU mounting support doesn't mean it deserves such award either. Never gonna understand why so many vendors are doing these restrictive casings that goes after noise reduction, super thick filters or a solid front panel. it's pointless, add more to the cost than it doesn't need to & I always hate them tossing in cheap retail fans that's gonna make the already appalling performance even worst. At least, Corsair for once is going away from that route & putting actual vents at the front (not the side).

Yes, I know. I've been yelling about actually testing the cases for thermals and noise for over a year now. I was just illustrating that Darksaber's case reviews are a rubber-stamping exercise because he gives out an average of more than one award for every case he reviews.

hopefully you can get the opportunity to do so... coz every casing that's been reviewed should have those tests. Sure it will take longer per review but more information is better.

Can you imagine if W1zzard skipped all gaming benchmarks and temperature/noise measurements, and just said something along the lines of "the card looks great, and I was able to play all of my games"?

Yeah the awards mean nothing on this website. This case will run hotter, GamersNexus already reviewed the 2019 model of the H510i, and he already proved it runs hotter with tests than a lot of cases do. He did give the H710 the thumbs up though.

My case has two larger side intake vents, the Corsair 110Q, sound proof panels on all sides, and still cools better than this NZXT case does. Kind of sad.

This trend of totally closed off fronts is absolutely mind boggling. As hardware gets denser, faster and as a result hotter it only makes common sense to provide as much air flow as possible. Honestly if I was looking for a case I would probably get the CM 500MP or the Fractal Meshify C. I love my Thermaltake Core X9 but it is starting to age however I cannot convince myself to get the Level 20 XT because of how different the air flow equation is.

Look up the power consumption of Quad SLI for a shock on power consumption. Two 2080Tis don't come close to that level of heat.

In terms of CPUs yes. I have a TR4 system with 2 Vega 64s in crossfire and believe me they can get really hot. I agree about your statement about power consumption though. Then there are NVME drives that also produce more heat than an HDD or SSD ever did. Combine that with NVME slots sitting under the GPU(s) and we see the need for proper airflow.

The case desperately needs a fully ventilated top panel so an air cooler can pull fresh outside air in. It's a fine case for AiO cooling solutions but how many pennies does NZXT save by not increasing the mesh top?

Might not be the best airflow case existing, but if the awesome cable management and SSD mounting are kept from the H500i (which I currently own), it's a great case.
My only problem is that I'm using a weird, anti-logical setup:
CPU - Ryzen 3700X with stock Wraith RGB cooler (runs hot and is noisy)
GPU - AIO watercooled EVGA 1080 - that cooler is overpowered and doesn't have any problem to keep temperatures in check using fixed fan at 800 rpm.
The H500i only has one 140mm top window, making it impossible to mount my GPU radiator on it (CPU cooler gets in the way), os I had to put it in the front, blowing hot air directly towards the CPU cooler.

Any suggestions?

it's not about how good the cable managements are or whether a side intake helps. ANY casings with a solid front panel is bad news for me. I once looked into getting one (for aesthetics) but after seeing how horrible it is, I'm gonna stick with my Air 240 for now since that casing's thermals is one of the best for my use case.
