If it requires a persistent online presence and XBox Live account for the single player, yes I'd give it a pass. If not, then I'd be ok with the Steam version.

Like it or not, that's where most games are going these days. And most steam games require persistent connection to steam now.

Microsoft has said that the 1st MCC game (Reach) is almost ready to be launched. They just need people to test it first. The test will take place on Steam. If anyone is interested this is where to sign up for the Halo Insider Program:

343 Industries said that there won't be cross platform support for PC and XBox One. Maybe they will be able to work on that after all of the PC games are finished and if the community wants it. They said Reach for PC will also not be a Play Anywhere game.

Now here's something unexpected. 343 Industries has said that the MCC will be available for Windows 7 also.

They also say that delivering great KB+M controls is one of their top priorities and there will be a FOV slider and uncapped FPS.

Mods probably won't be supported on launch but maybe later on.

Now here's something unexpected. 343 Industries has said that the MCC will be available for Windows 7 also.

They also say that delivering great KB+M controls is one of their top priorities and there will be a FOV slider and uncapped FPS.

Mods probably won't be supported on launch but maybe later on.

Based on the feedback from the recent closed beta, there seems to be some considerable mouse input lag. That needs to be resolved or its going to suck.

They will probably fix it eventually. I plan to wait until they do to buy it. I want the best experience possible when I play it.

I wish it would let me preload like it keeps telling me I can. Just errors out. I’ve honestly never played a Halo because I’ve never owned an Xbox so I’m of course curious about all the hype...

Not even HALO: Combat Evolved? LOL, I always just kind of assumed that everyone had it on PC. Shows what happens when I assume.

Even today on a W8.1 or W10 machine it displays and runs surprisingly well. I still like playing it occasionally.

i lost interest once HALO 2 came out and it required DX 10. I thought it was a crappy move by MS. That being said, I’m interested in playing the whole collection.

Ive already paid the $40 and I will have them all on release. I look forward to actually finishing 4. I never did. And then I will get halo 5 next year when it releases.

I use to have a PSP but for Sony that's the only console I've owned.

The PC version came out nearly 2 years after the XB version. Most people played it on XB first.

My story is similar to others. I played Halo: CE but that was the only one I've played. I've always been suspicious of MS claiming that it needed Vista and DX10 to run Halo 2 because the game was from 2004 and Vista wasn't released until 2006. I think they were just using Halo 2 as an incentive to upgrade. Vista was poorly received because it was too different from XP and it was a memory hog. It didn't help matters that pre-built manufacturers pushed units out with 512 MB and Vista really needed at least 1 GB of RAM Also hardware manufacturers didn't have Vista drivers ready at first.

I like it that we will be getting them all except Halo 5 but if MS makes a lot of money selling the PC version they may change their mind.

You're thinking of Halo 2. HaloCE for PC was 2003, long before Vista and DX10 were even a glint in the eye of MS.
