Razer Announces the DeathAdder V2, Basilisk V2 Gaming Mice

Razer announces the launch of the Razer DeathAdder V2, the latest iteration of Razer's best-selling mouse, and the Razer Basilisk V2, Razer's highly customizable gaming mouse, both upgraded and refreshed with the latest in Razer's industry-leading mouse technology.

Since its initial launch, the Razer DeathAdder has consistently raised the bar for gaming mice, with over 30 variations on the iconic design which, as of 2019, has sold more than 10 million units worldwide. Is it just me or does that basilisk v2 look like a Logitech rip-off?

I bought a Deathadder when I got the Chroma KB, both have been pretty average. The mouse was so bad at tracking, with the cursor disappearing and reappearing elsewhere, or sticking and then jumping, that I ditched it and replaced it with a logitech M585, an infinitely better product.

The KB has also been a pain, with keys that randomly stop working (they still press down fully and click, you just get no input), and even macros don't work properly, sometimes a keystroke sequence is fine, sometimes it swaps characters around. The same happens when typing, and I'm not exactly a fast typer, but it will swap characters that I know were pressed in the correct order.

Never had these problems with any other KB, even $20 cheapies, but a $200+ Razer, no problems, we can fill it full of bugs for you. And let's not even talk about the woeful interface and bugs in the Synapse software...

No more razer products for me...

Which sensor was this? The 5G sensor (the one before this new Focus+ sensor) is a re-branded PWM 3389, so you would have similar tracking with other gaming mice, including the G403 Prodigy. I can agree that the build quality of the previous Deathadders (especially before the Elite moniker) was not so good.

Also which keyboard? It sounds like you got the mecha-membrane crap that they made, like the Ornata (I had one of these) and the newer Cynosa. Their mechanical keyboards with the customized Kailh switches are not really bad.

I still went with Coolermaster's MK730 since they're still pure Cherry MX Blues.

It's supposed to be. Basilisks are the main competitors to the MX518 and the G403, with the Hyperspeed version being the direct competitor of the G603 (AA batteries + 2.4GHz/Bluetooth).
