AMD has just re-released Radeon Software 20.1.3 as WHQL. These drivers are identical to the Adrenalin 20.1.3 Beta drivers posted earlier this month, with the only difference being WHQL certification. It looks like AMD's driver team is hard at work fixing the various issues reported. 20.1.3 WHQL is an important release as it now gives RX 5600 XT owners a WHQL driver — previously they had to resort to beta drivers to power their new purchase.

Radeon Software Adrenalin 20.1.4 Beta was released just days ago and does include additional changes that aren't integrated in 20.1.3 WHQL yet, because Microsoft's WHQL certification process takes some time. A few days ago we reported that AMD silently patched a driver security issue with 20.1.1 Beta, maybe that's a reason, too, why we're seeing a WHQL version today.

They are all WHQL logo'd now, w1zzard. Literally all that changes is AMDs status for them. Check dxdiag if you don't believe me

Looks like they signed off of 20.1.3 as a normal release now. The 20.1.3 release notes don't mention its a beta anymore.

20.1.4 beta is still working well though.

dxdiag is unable to detect beta signing (aka "attestation signing"), check GPU-Z

Ah. Was unaware there was even a difference. I just remember back when AMD had completely unlogo'd beta drivers.

not possible anymore, you need to submit all drivers to microsoft's portal and they counter-sign it or it won't load on windows 10.

in order to instantly get a driver signed (and not run whql tests), you click a checkbox "attestation sign" and it spits out the signed driver after a few minutes

I know (remember vjoy?). I just didn't know there was different levels of signing. Never got that far.

I confirm they work very well for RX5700, at least in my case.

Do you have any issues with Freesync working or games crashing (old or new?) if so what games? I genuinely want to go all AMD next build, just worried about driver stability long term. I want to play old games too like Mass Effect 2 from time to time... does Navi have issues with older games?

I saw people on Reddit complaining about new drivers only focusing on software features and not driver crashes, this was only a few days ago, so I am just curious.

This is what I've been wondering about. I was crashing constantly using the 2020 drivers in Dead by Daylight.

Since I do not own a fs monitor yet, I cannot say anything about it myself. Not any of the games I have tried (old and newer ones) with the latest 2 drivers appeared to have any problem also.

Well I decided awhile ago that I am never going to sell my gtx 1070 laptop, so I guess worst case scenario is I get big navi and ryzen 4800x and it works great on new games but some older ones it crashes on, and the older ones I can just play on laptop anyway so yeah

Try the 20.1.3 or 20.1.4 if you haven't already done so.

I'll update my 590 system to these drivers, but only due to the security fixes. I have been reluctant to move off the (stable for me) 20.1.1 driver because of concerns over crashing. RX 590 is the display output for my 2600X rig. Got pretty fed up with the crashing screwing up WCG tasks with my RX 5700.

I saw people on Reddit complaining about new drivers only focusing on software features and not driver crashes, this was only a few days ago, so I am just curious.

I have a 5700 XT currently running 20.1.3 since its beta release. I don't have any issues with Freesync or games crashing. I have however been experiencing some freezes and black screens ever since downloading 20.1.2. The black screens would only happen when trying to watch fullscreen video (Youtube and Netflix), and disabling hardware acceleration in the browser settings appears to have fixed that. AMD has noted that particular issue in the "Known Issues" section of the patch notes for 20.1.3 and 20.1.4, so I'm confident it will be cleared up soon. The freezing mainly happens to me when gaming (Apex Legends), although I think I've had one instance occur when browsing the web. It's only display freezing though - audio and everything else continues to work fine. I've found turning off both my monitors simultaneously and turning them back on resets the displays and returns them to normal function. It just came to mind that the freezing may be due to instability from an undervolt on my 5700 XT, although from what I remember, it hadn't been sticking after restarts (as in I would have to manually load the undervolt profile) so it may be occurring at stock settings. I'll have to check after work today. Could try updating to 20.1.4 I guess too.

Regardless of these minor issues I've been having (which are the first and only ones I've experienced), I'm still very happy with my 5700 XT. I'll happily deal with a few driver issues in (hopefully) the short term for what is essentially 2070 Super performance for less $.

Back to the 19.12.1 driver, newest driver still completely freezes my computer while gaming.
