MSI got bored of old dark/gray/white laptop designs and decided to spice things up a bit. Say goodbye to the old boring laptops and enter the MSI Prestige 14 Limited Edition Rose Pink laptop. Designed as a premium-looking machine, it has decent specifications to back up the good looks. Equipped with a 14-inch IPS display comes in two variants, a 1080p version, and 4K edition, and it has 100% coverage of the AdobeRGB spectrum. With such specifications, we know that it is targeting the professional content creators.

Under the hood, there is Intel's 10th generation Core i7-10710U "Comet Lake" processor paired with 16 GB of LPDDR3 2133 MHz RAM running in single-channel mode. For graphics, NVIDIA's GTX 1650 Max-Q GPU is on board with 4 GB of GDDR6 memory. Storage is limited to 512 gigabytes of PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD space, as there is no room for expansion. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5 and Wi-Fi 6 powered by Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 wireless adapter. When it comes to the IO, the Prestige 14 laptop is rocking two USB 2.0 adapter along with two Thunderbolt 3 ports, one 3.5 mm headphone jack, and one Micro-SD card reader. There is also a 3-cell 50 Whr battery powering the system. Price-wise, this laptop is retailing for around $1399 on stores like Amazon and Newegg.

Right on time for Valentine's day, haha I see what you did there.
No lie, in my last relationship this woulda won me a lot of points...

...for about a month. After that it's back to remembering how much she hates everything I do. Money well spent?

For a little while, you can be Superman. All you need is a pink laptop for your Lois Lane.

On the real though, treat yer lady right. If she's good to you, something like this might be great.

I think a custom pinked out build would be a nicer gesture though. More personal. Assuming she actually does like pink. I've met plenty of women, and even girls when I was younger who would react just like trparky did to something like this.

Also, inb4 the "At least it's not business black like everything else." Like any of y'all are really gonna buy a pink laptop to go with your pink puppy dog GPU in yer waifu flowers case just because you dudes are tired of black.

More CPU grunt (6-core, 12-thread) and a slightly bigger screen (14") than the Razer Blade Stealth GTX 1650. Better keyboard as well (because of the RBS's short right-SHIFT key and small ENTER key).

The detractors are:
1. LPDDR3 at 2133 MHz (soldered on the motherboard)
2. 60 Hz screen for both FullHD and 4K variants
3. USB 2.0 ports (Why?)
4. (I think it) Still uses a barrel-type AC adapter instead of Power Delivery USB-C for both the 90W and 65W variants (The AC adapter is a USB-C PD brick that does 20V 4.75A)
5. Doesn't support Windows Hello with the IR HD 720p webcam (Just checked, it does)
6. Single-color RGB for the keyboard lighting

According to AnandTech, there is a port there, but pictures don't show it.

No HDMI port, but external displays can be connected through both or either of the USB-C ports (DisplayPort 1.4).

I've met plenty of women, and even girls when I was younger who would react just like trparky did to something like this.
That was the first kind of reaction that I had when I saw the notebook, instant gag reflex.

As a guy, I'd probably go for a darker blue color if I had to choose a color other than business black on a notebook. I've always had a liking to darker blue colors.

Ooooo I'm picturing that deep blued steel with fringes of temperature stress hue gradienting... giving way to that deeper indigo on the countours... dipped in blues. That would be sick. Nice frosted satin on top. Icey.

That would be a very cool looking notebook. Not gaudy so it can fit in a business environment but stylish enough to not be boring.

Definitely... one of those things where you almost don't notice until you really take a look and it's like "woah that's actually really nice!"

I feel like it's always either blacks and dull grays or obnoxiously loud colors with laptops and phones. That or copper/rose gold flake, which both remind me of shampoo bottles. And then there's white, which we all know is the worst thing to be carrying around or grubbing on a regular basis... just gross. Looks nice for maybe a week.

White is nice but it shows dirt and you just can't keep it clean. That's why I went with a darker color when I bought my iPhone 11 Pro.

For someone like my wife who jumps at any chance to find quality hardware pieces that are pink, this is intriguing.

People like that will take a good hard look at something like this. For companies that provide this sort of thing, it translates into sales they wouln’t have otherwise gotten.

For me it's metal coloured /effect= winner but to each their own, some guy somewhere is buying this for himself to be different ,TF that's not me.

I'm sure the average woman would be happier getting a rose gold macbook air.

I took my friend shopping for a Macbook Pro for his girlfriend (of 15 years LOL) and she loves it.

You'd be surprised, man. Our head of childcare, mid-late 30's, is a mother of 3 who carries herself very modestly and professionally - and dresses the part. Just a normal, responsible family woman with seemingly normal, grown-up tastes. Very, very conservative. Picture your conventional 'grown woman' stereotype and you've basically got her. She has that whole aura of maturity and purpose - the furthest thing from a ditzy teenager. Just very serious and feet-on-the-ground.

You'd never guess that her phone AND her laptop are baby pink bedazzled to the max. Say the right thing and she turns into a valley girl and it's like "Oh, so you are a real human!"

In spite of how it may seem, sometimes a girl just wants to feel like a girl. Not all of the time. But sometimes stuff like that can draw you in and really make you happy. Generations of women that grew up with Barbie dolls, MLP, and things like that, would probably love a pink laptop. It's built-in by the time they're adults. Think of all of the gaudy stuff you thought looked cool as a kid. Some of it you probably hate now, but be honest, there's still a part of you that wishes you could still embrace it. If I had the money to toss around, I'd still be collecting Pokemon cards like I was 8.

The typical male equivalent would be the masculine worker-type who still loves Hot Wheels and action figures. When you grow up, a lot of things change about a person, but you never lose that fondness for things you loved when you were a kid. For some women, that's pink everything, though like the construction worker and his action figures, they may not always like to show it. So they may get the gold macbook air, but really they'd pause to glance over this if they had a chance and there would be confetti falling in their heads. Any excuse to have something be PINK is good enough for some chicks lol. I've seen it too many times now. It's basically an archetype. If you look hard enough, you will usually find that one girly thing they still hold onto.

No shade on any of it... just one of those funny little things I've noticed about people. Not everyone is like that... but it does seem to be more common than it looks. Most of the teachers in the school I work at are women, most of them older, but watch how they temporarily regress to teenage girls when V-Day comes around. It's really something, hah. It's like a switch flips in their brains and all they see are pink things and cute things. Work becomes like an alternate reality over the weekend. Everything in those hallways is totally glammed out right now. I'm telling you... if they thought they could get away with it, they'd have me painting the doors with a glimmering pink/red stripe pattern and installing engraved brass doorknobs.

Any other time, they will deny it vehemently. But suddenly when it's more acceptable they go totally insane with it. It's a thing for sure! I just kinda know at this point not to question it or get involved. Just leave em to it

Also, who says grown women are the only market? What about middle-school and high-school girls? Though I'm sure there are just as many of those that are like "UGHHH. I'm not like the OTHER girls geez." I remember those. The goth movement was going so strong when I was in school. But I also remember a lot of them being hyper-girly before then.

I dunno, like rtwjunkie said, they wouldn't sell this stuff if people weren't buying it. SOMEBODY has to be all about this pink tech swag. These companies are tapping into something deep when they put stuff like this out lol.

Unless she's specifically a Windows user like I am... I seriously can't imagine a woman asking for "this" let alone even knowing it exists.

And considering the price of this is higher than a rose gold Macbook Air, it seems to me that short of being locked into the Windows ecosystem, the average woman would RECOGNIZE and WANT a Macbook instead.

That's the reality of Apple marketing.

And in typical badgewhoring fashion with a Louis, Coach or Gucci bag, no alternatives will be accepted.

Haha, this is also true.

Though I could also say... any girl can have a macbook and a gucci bag, but not EVERY girl can have a pink laptop! There's a novelty to it. I think that's part of the appeal. It doesn't come around that often, so someone who would otherwise go with whatever brand they think has the prestige and familiarity they want might be inclined to pick it up just because you don't have the option all that often. If you're rockin designer bags and apple gear, you might also snag this just to have it.

I mean, if it's all marketing/brand and not necessarily about the price or the capabilities, why not? Sometimes the unusual thing that stands out can win over the mainstays. For a little bit, anyway.

Now, if this was just an everyday thing and they were everywhere, I doubt they would sell nearly as well.

there's nothing wrong with the color used on that laptop but the design team shouldn't have covered the entire thing with it.
i would have add some other color to contrast the pink, for example a different color on the keyboard

How can one calls this "Prestige" when it only has a 10th gen Core i7 U Series CPU, soldered LPDDR3 RAM & a GTX1650 Max-Q? == At least pack in an i7 HK or HQ Series CPU, expandable DDR4 RAM slots, high refresh rate IPS panel (G-Sync or VRR will do), a GTX1660Ti Max-Q (or better) & 2 super fast storage drives, in RAID at the very least. The quote "packing serious horsepower" & "targeting professional content creators" is a complete joke. Also, why "limited" to a single 512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD, a measly 50Wh battery, dated USB2.0 ports & no storage expansions for $1400? That's one piece of underpowered, overpriced hunk of junk. The colour is also disgusting. Calling it "prestige" is a joke.

If I were to be a girl who's looking for a laptop & have $2k budget in hand, I won't even look at that laptop. I'm better off building a rig or get a laptop that has way better specs for that kind of money.

As usual, the boring brigade out in full force! More colors for laptops of all categories and all gear in general, please, from yellow to green to blue and sparkle too. I have a canary yellow Galaxy S10 and it's so nice to look at every time, will never go back to a boring black phone.
Imagine if all guitars were black, blue and sunburst! What a sad world that would've been.
