Logitech G, a brand of Logitech and Herman Miller, today announced an exclusive partnership to research, design, and manufacture the next generation high-performance furniture solutions for gamers. Both companies bring years of design and engineering expertise in their respective fields, and combined will address the needs of esports athletes, gamers, and streamers.

"At Herman Miller, we have a rich history of designing solutions to support people wherever they live and work," said Tim Straker, Herman Miller's Chief Marketing Officer. "We're excited to combine our ergonomic, research-driven approach with Logitech G's excellence in technology and innovation. Together, we'll develop high-quality solutions that provide gamers and esports athletes with the utmost support and comfort."

Like traditional sports, esports athletes and professional streamers need the right gear to perform at their best for long periods of time. In addition to long-term health concerns, esports athletes may also experience a loss of focus and a decline in overall performance due to discomfort. The solutions on the market today are not addressing these concerns—in fact, many of the products on the market today focus primarily on aesthetics, rather than research-proven ergonomic design, and can cause more harm than good.

"Logitech G is committed to creating the best gear for gamers. We make that possible through a unique collaboration process between our design and engineering teams, partners and our customers to translate needs and capabilities into products that gamers love," said Peter Kingsley, Chief Marketing Officer at Logitech G. "Herman Miller was the obvious choice for us to partner with given their more than 100 years of expertise. Together we will deliver amazing products with advanced ergonomics, comfort and performance that gamers deserve."

Logitech G and Herman Miller will analyze and incorporate the feedback from esports teams with which they have relationships, including Complexity Gaming, TSM, NaVi and others, into products that address their needs and concerns. The first product of this partnership will be a gaming chair, set to launch in the spring of 2020.

My company bought HM furniture last year for our 250 person office, and the bill was over $700k.... very nice quality stuff but nothing out of the ordinary....

Oh, and they wanted anutha $240k just to assemble & place everything, which we declined, as we have plenty of folks who are perfectly capable of doing the work :)

Nice, if you're going to spend hours in a chair Herman miller is the way to go. It is hard to find anyone (who has one) who doesn't just love their "Aeron" office chair @$680usd as the best they ever used. I wonder if they will just slap "gaming" on it and call it a day for $1,230?

Please, for the love of our spines and the backs of our heads

- no seatbelt holes and overly forward angled headrest.

-no weird protruding flanks on the sides meant to keep us in our chair from all the GeForces that instead just roll our shoulders forward

- no RGB

Ehhh not sure about that , what i mean HM chairs are already expensive so there would be no point to partner with Logi , if anything else i expect them to be around the 500 bucks ( still expensive for many dudes ) ballpark to target the ''gamer'' segment .

I would love one of their products, hope the partnership brings price down, so lesser funded can afford one.

I have the Mirra 2 and love it, so comfy. I just which it had a higher back and head rest.
If this results in an all mesh chair with headrest, I may just replace mine.

Yep, that looks like the same chairs we bought, or something very similar to them anyways. We only paid a tad over $500 for them since we bought so much stuff, and they are really comfortable, but still not really worth the price IMHO, since I have a very similar chair at home that I only paid $125 for :)

Own a Herman Miller Embody. Best chair I've ever used.
This could be the opportunity for a gaming peripheral company to actually make a good chair.

Just saying...I have a Corporate Express chair.
I've had it for 12 years and I still have 13 years on the warranty...In comparison I don't see anything different enough to warrant the price difference let alone 2x the cost.(on sale)
That said...Office chairs do not equal gaming chairs....I hope they do this right and I hope they realize that most of their customers are going to be fat.

If you really think you need a specific chair for gaming you are already lost beyond belief.

Office chairs and ergonomics, Look it up. Everything else is marketing and potentially harmful.

You work for a company who cares about it's employees back health? I had to sit on a barrel for 2 months as a security guard once, in a run down guard shack, and my health insurance through this security company didn't even cover office visits, had to pay $70 to see a doctor for anything. What an amazing world you must live in, lol

So sorry to hear about those awful working conditions, hopefully you are in a better place now.

Yes, my company does care about their employees health, so much so that every new employee, as a conditon of employement, is required to complete a mandatory "ergonomic assessment" of their workspace within their 1st week, to identify any needed adjustments or changes to ensure proper posture, spinal alignment and line of sight/distance to their computers, keyboards, mice etc.

And they conduct their own assessments every 6 months by a licensed specialist and then compare their results with the employee's comments, concerns or questions, and they have 24hour hotline that any can use for advice, suggestions, and requests for any special needs..

Finally, our copay for office visits is only $20, and almost everything else is paid at 80%.

Granted these are folks who spend 97% of their time sitting at a computer, but that just makes these practices that much more important...

I understand that alot of companies nowadays dont take care of their employees very well, but there are a few that do...

That is absolutely jaw dropping. I sit vast majority of my day cause my hobbies are reading and gaming/youtube, etc. So it would be nice to learn how to sit properly. Make sure you never mess up that job mate, cause most of the world is shit from my experience lol

I just got my Master's degree, still looking for work unfortunately.
