AMD Announces the CDNA and CDNA2 Compute GPU Architectures

I installed the Pro drivers on a RX 560.

Seems they are available for all GCN cards. Which is really kind of cool. Those certified drivers aren't cheap to produce and have certified.
whats the difference btween PRO DRIVERS and ADRENALLIN , for a 5700xt ??

Pro drivers gain support and usability in and of some applications but you loose a lot of gaming features and overclocking but gain stability.
Adrenaline have aditional gaming features and overclocking Afaik.

You're correct. You don't have any of the extra features that were introduced with Adrenalin (like the screen/stream recording, OSD, etc.). I wasn't experiencing any problems with the latest Adrenalin, but I switched to the Pro drivers because they seem to actually work well and I technically am using the RX 5700 XT more for work than play.

It still has the 144 Hz monitor (stuck high memory clock, but can be remedied with CRU) and multi-monitor (higher memory clock if both are not the same refresh rate) issues though.

How are the performance of games that use Direct3D? I seem to recall people saying Pro drivers are more optimized towards OpenGL or is that another one of those BS floating around the internet?

You are most likely talking about the AMDGPU-PRO (proprietary) drivers for Linux. On Windows, its very similar to to the November Adrenaline drivers.

The Pro drivers are specifically tuned for OpenGL and Compute tasks. They are also certified by various companies to work with various professional pieces of software.

Like the NV Quadro drivers. They aren't the best for gaming but they do work.

They are drivers designed specifically for stability, so the feature set in them is usually a few releases behind and certain functions may be omitted completely for compatibility and stability reasons.

To make it really simple...

Pro drivers benefit PCMark.
Adrenaline drivers benefit 3DMark.
