New external hard drive running hot and slow

I bought a new external harddrive for storage 8TB WD easystore and soon I noticed some strange things, like when I check it with HD sentinel or HD tune it shows it running close to 50c none of my other drives get this hot also another thing that really bothers me is that it takes a few seconds to spin up and I could make out the disc spinning up and the head making noise when it's writing that is noticeable.
I have contacted WD about it and they say it's all normal because it uses helium I thought all drives had that?

Am I just too used to having quiet harddrives or is my drive possibly bad? Any help with this would be great.

Is it normal from running 24/7? I turned the timer off so it's on and doesn't take time to spin up since I got it which was 2 weeks ago.

50°C is maximum threshold, which I wouldn't keep it running at that for 24/7 use. I'd swap for another.

Make sure you leave some space underneath the drive to allow air to flow up through the case and cool the drive. You can also set the drive on a (case) fan, as that will move air up and through the case. Temps in the 40's are pretty normal for a drive in a plastic case with no fan, that's been active for a while. I own a number of Easystore drives.

That's normal temp for any HD out there from the Quantum Fireball to now.
