Personally i would ask for a refund without returning, if they are a scammer they should be ok with loosing a few dollars.

Side Note... Does anyone know how GPUZ verifies the GPU chips? Just curious.

In Canada counterfeits can be met with criminal actions.

The standard fraud allegation is usually enough to motivate remedies.
Then there is the postal regulations.

The thing is. You don't just report a scammer because you yourself got scammed, Its also a service you do for others because you dont want others to fall prey to the same scam. By not reporting it to amazon youre letting who knows how many other people get cheated by the same scheme and by the time enough reports have come in to shut down the seller. He's already transferred the money to a different account - profiting off it.

Only way to know is to look up the ram chip model and count the chips to get the correct capacity, also looking at the gpu die itself csn determine if its a gts or ti etc...

Btw i just figured out that if ur gpu fits in the slot it works it does not have to say its combaible pcie slots are backwards combatble but i do still need to find a way to correct the memory otherwise so demanding games will try to use more than the gpu has and it will crash LOL

As far as I'm aware GPU-Z gets its info directly from the GPU die itself instead of what the bios on the card reports, that's how it can detect fakes etc.

Too START it would run at pci-e 3.0, next launch date would be in 2016 not 2011. Next after that the tech would 14/16nm for the chip process. just to name a few and lastly the "GPU" would say GP107 noty GF116. What you got was a cheap attempt at scam gpu where as some higher end scammers change that info to match the real thing. What you got was a Nvidia GTS 450 card with a bios edited to claim a it was a 1050 ti.

Return it, imo.

Should the seller refuse to take it back, not reply to your request for a return, or fail to refund you the card after it has been shipped back, create an A-to-Z Guarantee claim for a refund:

You may be eligible to request a refund under the A-to-z Guarantee if any of the following apply:

1. You have not received your package and three days have passed since the maximum estimated delivery date or the tracking shows a delivery confirmation, whichever is sooner.
2. You received an order that is different than expected and have requested a return with the seller.
3. You returned your item with a trackable shipping method and the seller has not issued you a refund.

Source: https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201889410

Amazon.com Marketplace sellers also have to provide a return address within the United States or a prepaid return label:

Third-party sellers must either provide a return address within the United States, provide a prepaid return label, or offer a full refund without requesting the item be returned. If a seller does not offer these methods to return your items, you may file an A-to-z Guarantee claim to seek help with your return.

Not another one.. Oh dear.. As many have said, just start an RMA, give them screenshots plus links to the actual GPU specs used and a link to a real 1050 Ti can help them if they aren't very tech savvy.. It's most definitely fake and if you paid that much you've been screwed over.. You may well get your money back and get to keep the card to play around with, set fire to, put in the oven, the freezer, use as a spare etc.. Whenever i spot a fake on eBay i always report it without fail! So many of them...

You can have a REAL GTX 1050 or MONEY BACK if you listen to the advice people here given you. Amazon will even pay for the shipping back.

This seller, BuyVPC, has 96 percent positive feedback. So maybe, this was a one time error.

Contact Amazon, tell them you received counterfeit item, link them to this thread, ask a replacement OR refund.

Good point actually, but if he can manage to get his money back, order a real one and keep the card...well he can destroy or keep the damn thing to make sure it isn't re-sold! Shame it would be hard to re-flash so it shows as what it is..
