Tbf, Jill's a total edgelord twat in the demo, triggered by the most benign conversation. To make things awkward the angst rolls off the NPCs as if she had completely different dialogue and it was changed to make her more edgy but devs only did half the job and didn't rewrite the NPC. A complete 180 from her previous calm, collected personality. Just irks me to no end as this was my favorite and the first RE game that I played from beginning to completion.

maybe its only in the demo, it doesnt represent the whole game does it? Play the full game maybe it's changed, a demo usually just show case of the gameplay.

I believe one of the key point in DX12 was Asynchronous compute which should improve performance drastically. I mentioned "was" because I am not seeing the benefits of late. The feature is still there, but because of the limited hardware to support it (since Nvidia's market share is significantly more than AMD), there is little reason to do any software/ game optimizations for the minority that supports this feature. Now DX12 is relegated to some improvements in eye candy features not found on DX11.

This sounds like Nvidia is deliberately crippling the support. We know they like to do it, for example with the removal of DX 10.1 support from the Assassin's Creed game, and the unrealistic usage of tessellation in invisible parts in Crysis 2.

Nvidia doesn't have higher market share than AMD, actually Nvidia has lower market share than both Intel and AMD.

In the context of PC gaming, which is what is being reviewed within this benchmark, take a Steam Hardware sample. Steam Hardware Survey FEB 2020 shows NVIDIA holding 74.38% market share, followed by AMD 15.74% market share, and then Intel 9.74% market share.

NVIDIA is the Chrome of GPU market share when considering the above. Again, what are you talking about? Are you trolling this thread?

No.

According JPS’s Market Watch Q4 2019 report, AMD saw a 22.6% increase in overall GPU shipments in Q4 2019. This means that AMD now has 19% share of the GPU market, which is a 3% increase from Q3, while rivals Nvidia and Intel saw 0.97% and 2% drops respectively. That leaves Nvidia with only an 18% share - leaving AMD in the lead between the two.

You are providing citation for quarterly gains, not actual overall market share.

This is overall market share. Discrete + integrated. Many PC gamers can game on Radeon Vega in the Ryzen.

Going to see in the evening how 980 Ti handles it with 1080p74, I have the game downloaded already but it's 11.00 here in Finland and I promised to stream on about 20.30 or something :)

In fact I have the GPU as stock and VRAM OC'd, this has so high factory OC that it doesn't OC at all. :D

Also I already installed the REmake Jill mod and I haven't launched the game even once. :)

The Steam hardware numbers are more realistic, since that is based on gamers. Amongst gamers, Nvidia’s share blows the others out of the water. Your numbers are not gamers. They are the entire market. Believe it or not, people have PC’s that aren’t gamers.

I agree with everything you said. However, his/her citation isn't an entire market, its quarterly market share of sales, not overall market share.

Those numbers are only of people who register there. I have no registration and yet all of my PCs are Radeon ONLY.. I game, of course.

Maybe Nvidia pushes its clients to register in Steam, I don't know...

Now you are stating the results of their hardware survey are skewed because the majority of users aren't registered, and of that majority of users nearly all of them are using AMD GPUs... That would take an enormous amount of unregistered AMD users to overcome a 57.64% deficit.

I heard the game is very short. Can be finished in about 5 hours. I like the other Resident Evil remakes, maybe I'll try this one out too.

You simply must be right. The sales and earnings reports that the two of them report from their gaming GPU’s must be skewed, because of course AMD would risk jail time for all its executives by deliberately reporting that they have a much smaller part of the market than Nvidia.
:kookoo:

Whether you want to believe it or not, Steam’s hardware stats pretty much match the percentage of the gaming GPU market that both of rhem have.

Interesting, because I've never been asked to register with this Steam Survey. I've read on Wccftech that if you own a Radeon GPU you have to manually register. If you own a GeForce GPU it automatically asks you if you like to register.
I haven't tested out this theory of course, but nothing popped up on my screen asking me to register.

Regardless, it's a sampled data set that holds no bias. You accept, and it reports your hardware. Is it really possible that only Nvidia users seem to accept this survey, which ultimately causes AMD to lose their supposed market share lead?

Look at the two companies market cap. You have Nvidia at $150 billion and AMD at $50 billion. AMD has all but succeeded the GPU market to Nvidia over the past 3 years in an effort to compete with Intel. Remember, in 2016 AMD was on the verge of bankruptcy, and with a market cap of $3 billion.

This is the problem with using steam as your source. Not everyone that owns a PC is a gamer so whenever someone tries to use that as data point. And you will have people trying to convince you till they are blue in the face.

Fact is steam numbers doesn't count for the whole market.

Obviously it features a VRAM-saving limit up to 8 GB max.
It has Vega shaders optimisations, otherwise it won't run so well compared to the other cards and other games.

Just bcz the game takes highest 7.8GB vram, doesn't mean there's a secret 'VRAM-saving limit up to 8GB max' injected by the devs. It's just that the game isn't demanding enough to require more than 7.8gb vram. Some game use VRAM allocation, those will use as much vram as given, like COD games. But resident evil isn't those type of games. It only uses what it needs. Keep in mind that VRAM allocation and VRAM usage are two completely different thing.

Between an RX 5700 XT and the Radeon VII 16GB I will take the Radeon VII any day.

Imagine the AMD Fine Wine in 2025 how it will be faster than RTX 2080 Ti!

Well, see you again in 2025 with my rx 5700xt(if i'm alive and still using this gpu by then)

This sounds like Nvidia is deliberately crippling the support. We know they like to do it, for example with the removal of DX 10.1 support from the Assassin's Creed game, and the unrealistic usage of tessellation in invisible parts in Crysis 2.

Nvidia doesn't have higher market share than AMD, actually Nvidia has lower market share than both Intel and AMD.

nvidia crippling dx12? welp,Enough internet for me today i guess.
