ASUS unveiled an addition to its ROG Strix power supply series with a new 850-Watt model. The series was, until now, led by a 750 W model. What's more the ROG Strix 850 W comes in a new White Edition trim, which sees a mostly white+silver color combination. Matte white with silver accents make up the PSU's body the AxialTech fan impeller, and the cables. Under the hood, the ROG Strix 850 W features a single +12V rail design with 80 Plus Gold rated efficiency, full-bridge LLC resonant converter, sync rectifier, and DC-to-DC switching. Among its connectors are a 24-pin ATX, two 4+4 pin EPS, six 6+2 pin PCIe power, ten SATA power, and three Molex. It is likely that ASUS extends the White Edition treatment to other models in the ROG Strix-G PSU series.

Any idea on the price? I would like to buy two of them to my upcoming rigs, one is going to amd 5 2600 as a streaming PC and the next one will probably be B550 MB with ryzen 4 series 16 core and new Nvidia 3080 gpu

I wonder if Asus are still using Seasonic as OEM.

Its an ROG, so expect prices to be over the top. Id estimate youre looking at around $200 per unit give or take.

200 bucks is okay but anything higher than is considerable, the competition charge around 300 USD and its a straight no, specially in times like this.

Im basing my guestimation off the 850 Focus Gold. If the unit is a rebadged PRIME 850 Gold then it could be more than that.

ASUS has nothing special in its middle-class category , but the prices are higher than the competition and FOCUS Gold is in the $ 100 class ! For $ 200 I prefer to buy a TITANIUM certified PSU and not $ 100 ornaments .

Its just under twice of what you should pay for a Gold PSU, though...

Pretty expensive white paint

You probably should get a better board if you are going to spend that much money on a cpu and gpu probably x670 or x590 pretty sure they will release one on ryzen 4xxxx series launch.

The only reason I question this is how are the colour of the PSU relevant in the world of PSU shrouds?

Looks nice, but unfortunately will be for select people because the PSU shroud color can make a difference too.

I ain't buyin until I hear it on a review. STRIX is supposed to be their "silent-gaming-line", but if this PSU sounds anything like ASUS Strix GPUs, it ain't my thing.

could have used this when I just did my White themed build this past november....then again, Asus is severely overpriced and owning Asus is basically guaranteeing you're owning the same exact hardware as every other idiot...like Corsair.

Isn't it obvious? White parts run cooler. Add a blue led for sub zero temps
