I still have boxed pc version that I purchased on launch. Haven't really touched mp. I feel sorry for someone that waited so long just because they didn't want to pay for it. Meanwhile some folks will probably use it as a burner copy for hacking etc so good luck to those still playing online.

Seems like the only people that get twisted about EGS are those that spent a decade building their nice pretty walled garden in Steam and now they can't go elsewhere because everything is completely contained in that ecosystem. I guess, but I honestly never could have imagined the 'locked into Steam' group was actually, you know... a group? Its like... why would you limit your options to just that, ever? I just can't grasp the logic behind it. But it gets truly schizofrenic when those same people shit on EGS because it 'limits their freedom' :kookoo:

Well, I'm not sure about EGS version, but Steam's does. Requires both Steam and RSSC running to work.

I have a Steam Account ever since the relase of HL 2 and I'm wondering the same.
I have zero issues with EPIC or whatever launchers,they are all the same to me anyway. 'I have like all of them installed on my system by now,non are set to auto launch with Windows,only when I actually want to play a game on them'

Tho I do not use any of the launchers to stay in 'touch' with ppl nor care about achievements so maybe thats why its fine with me.

perhaps there is an even smaller group of people that used to buy all of their games at Best Buy when physical pc media was a thing. And those people still feel that they can only launch their game while on a laptop standing in Best Buy. And can only call their friend to chat while in a Best Buy. I mean, that is where they bought the game after all...

I think I may have unearthed the origin of Geek Squad. These are the gamers that eventually grew tired of customers asking them computer questions as if they were employees while they were loitering in the vestibule. Have you noticed they are never out front waiting for customers? They come out from the back only after you have been in line for several minutes. It's because they clocked in to launch their games but now they can't leave without dropping internet connection. They are stuck in the Best Buy ecosystem for life.

Has anyone loaded up the game yet and got anything back to report??

At least this version will be a version completely mine. Previous physical copy I've had I bought through ebay and the gent I bought it from (massively helpful, was such a bloody change!!) helped me transfer the Rockstar Social Club from his name to mine, was a great thing.. Game loaded and was great! I don't think I've actually managed an hour of game play since I'd bought the damn thing, that was nearly two years ago!! :laugh:

Looking forward to getting a few people I've sent the links etc. too, to see if we can get a bit of a LAN type thing going.. Called up about my broadband today, the gent on the end of the phone was also a gamer and said the same thing, games these days are very much loner games, nothing like Golden Eye or Mega Bomberman now and I actually think its a sad thing not a good thing...

Anyways, where am I... Ah yes, so has anyone played this yet??

I did DL it today and checked it out if everything works right.
My DL speed was fine and installed the game with no issues but registering the Rockstar account was a pain in the ass.

First all of my 'nicknames' were taken obviously and every time it was wrong I had to re do their lovely captcha thing which ofc never worked for the first time. :banghead:

After I finally managed to register the account the verify email wouldn't show up,fine the system was stressed so I went to take a nap and got the email meanwhile.

Yea that email verification was slow but I guess its understandable now.

RX 480 should do fine at 1080p with good settings,my 570 runs it decently on my 2560x1080 display. 'game is heavily Nvidia prefered tho'

That being said I do not plan on playing the game now,only installed it for testing purposes 'idk,I was never that much into the GTA serie,never finished any of the games'

I've played all of the main games: GTA, GTA 2, GTA III, Vice City, San Andreas, GTA IV and GTA V. I don't think I finished the first two games but I definitely finished all the others. It's definitely my jam and it's been interesting to see all the changes they've made throughout the years. The top-down view from the first two games is odd now, as is the silent protagonist in GTA III. I wasn't a huge fan of the RPG elements in San Andreas (keeping fit etc.) and IV was just sort of okay. Looking back, I think my favorite games would be Vice City, GTA V and San Andreas (despite the annoyances it did a lot right). And as much time as I pumped into the single player in GTA V, I tried the multiplayer once, came across an obvious hacker within minutes, and never touched it again.

I still get together with friends every few months for some good old-fashioned couch co-op (every few months is as good as it gets now with schedules etc.). There are a lot of games out there if that's what you're looking for. You've got games like Guacamelee/Guacamelee 2, Cuphead, Human: Fall Flat, Everybody's Golf, Overcooked, Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled and not to mention all the Nintendo games like Mario Kart and Smash Bros and that's just to name a few. Then you have all the online multiplayer games and online co-op games as well. My go-to site for co-op games info is co-optimus. Plus you can still play classics like Bomberman if you wanted to, or the newer versions if that's more your thing.

I did play GTA 1/2/3 when I was a kid and back then I was only fooling around,like stealing cars and causing chaos in general.

GTA 4 I played the story till half way or so then I just quited it for whatever reason.
I mean they are cool and fun games I just never managed to play the story trough,well maybe now with 5 I will at a later time this year.
