The Trident Z Neo is back again! This time in a pair of 32 GB kits. With a striking new take on the award winning Trident Z design and specifications that are as good as it gets for Ryzen, the Trident Z Neo just might be the ultimate Ryzen memory kit.

Awesome review. Those are 100% Samsung B-die.

SEC = Samsung Electronics Corporation
5WB = B die stepping

Also a little trick... Gskill tends to put the memory die letter as the last character in the serial number.

Really like that you are stripping the spreaders and showing off the PCB.

4.8 out of 5

Found a typo:

I was able to squeeze 43933 MHz out of the G.SKILL Trident Z Neo on my MEG X570 ACE with the XMP default timings.

@Black Haru your Google-Fu is weak with this one.

Also, going beyond 3800MHz on Ryzen 3000 is simply pointless, as you're going to end up getting slower results for the obvious reasons.

At least it'll hopefully make some people shut up about four modules being worse than two modules on Ryzen 3000.

What I find interesting is that the the fact that TWO different sets were used and not really mentioned. It seems that they played well. Yes the 3800 MHz thing has passed over his head but that was expected from past reviews. :)

Not bad at all. I have the 3600MHz 32GB (2x16GB) kit with the Hynix chips and 16-19-19-39 XMP timings; with a 3900X and Asus Strix X570-E. I see speeds in the 53,000-57,000MB/s range for read/write/copy and latency ~70.4ns in Aida tests.

And here I am with some garbage unstable team sticks, 100€ for a 4000MHz kit i should have known better, meanwhile the neo 8X2 CL16 kit goes for upwards 200€...

I bought 3200mhz trident neo for my 2700x, but it can't run 3200 XMP or manual. It will fail memtest.

Thaiphoon is wrong as far as PCB layer count. Sorry I missed that, I usually put a note when it happens.

You are correct that these are C-die, thanks for catching it. Practically speaking, the performance (and more importantly overclocking and timings) matched B-die expectations.

I do the Max frequency overclock mostly to have parity with the Intel side of testing, but it is also interesting to see the performance hit for desyncing the IF with each kit.

Both the serial number and the markings on the memory indicate B-die.

That's fine, but do you think you could include some 3800MHz results, when possible, as well?

Based on the markings on the IC's these are in fact B-die.

Sorry for the confusion everyone! It looks like Thaiphoon Burner is reading this kit wrong for both the IC and the PCB layer count.

Anything beyond 1800 MHz IF clock is technically an overclock on the CPU, so I have thus far avoided including it.

I'd anybody else interested to see them perhaps downclock the memory kit, perhaps to 3400 or 3200mhz and see the absolute tightest the timings could get? I'd love to see memory reviews do that from now on if that's possible.

I have an Original Trident Z RGB kit of 3200Mhz CL 16 for my 2700x and I was able to achieve that with XMP thr very first time with 100% stability

I have tuned my old Gskill Xflare 3200 cl14 and the results are more impressive. 100% stable whatever the memory test i use.

I bought a 4000Mhz CL18 kit to run it at 3600CL16, it gives me some instability in Borderlands 3 and occasionally a crash into bios reset...

I currently have a 3200mhz CL16 RGB and NEO kit. I didn't have problem with the RGB, but had to RMA them and tried to get my money back. In the mean time I bought a NEO kit. Running them with XMP would make games crashed randomly and sometimes a BSOD. I manged to get them to run stable 3000mhz with the timings for the XMP. Now I was able to get both kits run 3200mhz XMP but with 1.37v. I don't want to play with it any more I takes around 8h to fully test them.
