I tried the -unlockrom parameter but that did not help. As you can see, I still haven't tried the -f parameter yet

Attention to all those who are wanting to flash your cards

Since the Subsystem ID will be changing slightly you will need to do a force flash in an administrator privileged command prompt. (Find cmd in start menu right click and open as administrator)

If that is not performed you may receive the stupid 0FL error.

Then follow this command

Enter this command first

Amdvbflash.exe -unlockrom 0


Then enter this command

amdvbflash -f -p 0 XXXX .rom

Note: XXXX is the name of the VBIOS file you downloaded. You can also change the downloaded file name to a simple name.


Otherwise you do it this way:

Create a new text file in your ATIFlash directory, name it FLASH.bat, and place this code into it:

echo Flashing card 0 with BIOS.rom...
echo.
amdvbflash -p 0 -f BIOS.rom
echo.

Assuming the new BIOS you want to flash onto your card is named BIOS.rom, this is the BIOS it will use for flashing.

Save your changes, then run the batch file by double-clicking on it.

Once you've received a success message, reboot your computer for the new BIOS to come into effect. If you can boot into Windows successfully, then that's good! (Note: your screen may flicker for a bit, because you basically have a new card, and Windows is trying to recognize it. If you want to be thorough, go ahead and do a clean re-install of your graphics drivers

Before you flash you need to provide some information I will provide you a link but you need to transition over to this one and I will request information of you

@Durvelle27 Post a pick of white stickers located on the card back or side of heatsink, even the barcode label from the box helps. Get a GPU-Z screenshot, also attempt to upload the bios through gpu-z to the bios collection, you may get a prompt that the bios is already in the collection, copy...

I thought this was simple. I am not sure why all of a sudden there is all of the chatter. When I asked how to do this or if there was an update there were no replies. I guess my job is done here. I know it works because I was the test dummy. This I have confirmed on my own MSI card which I took the risk with. I wish there was as much help when I needed it. Where were all the experts on the subject matter then?

Hi mate,

To be honest it is not worth flashing the 5700 mech cards as some of them only have 1x8pin power instead of 2x8pin

The best thing to do is use the program "morepowertool"

With this you can change everything you can with a bios flash

Anyway my max OC 1950 which gives actual of around 1911mhz no need to change voltage as it still stays under 1.15v

However the VRAM does not like to be overclocked much at all

Beware of temperatures on the hot spot they can hit 100c to 105c easily .. 115c is max so as long as you stay under there your good

I'm actually having troube overclocking the memory clock...i get glitches in the screen if I raise behond 1770mhz .

My card has 8pin + 6 pin connector.

I 'm running 2150mhz on 1100mV right now, and memory clock stock @ 1750.

Thanks. I am trying that now but it seems to be crashing the card.

Ok I was able to flash the card using the command line. I tool a chance and it worked. So far though I don't seem to be able to push the card much without it crashing.
What is the preferred tool to overclock these 5700's? It seems the AMD Radeon software keeps crashing. I am getting 1999 @1200mv but if I try to push it much further it crashes.

Any tips or advice?

Hardware isn't created equal. Best thing to do is to fine tune your own card. First underclock the core, push memory high as possible, stress test with Final Fantasy XV benchmark loop run on the highest quality for a few hours.

After you found the highest memory clock, start pushing the GPU clock, stress test with Unigine Heaven. Adjust clock high as possible in the thermal envelope and/or desired fans acoustic.

The weird thing here, is that it runs perfect on Unigine Heaven with no issues, but somehow, on Call of duty it makes the game crashes - as well as the MSI Afterburner, playing after a couple of matches.

I believe its the OC on the GPU that is making this ...

Is there any problem running radeon software and MSI afterburner together ? Should this be a problem or MSI overcome the settings of the radeon software ?
