27", 1080p and curved. This monitor shouldn't be curved.

If you sit close enough for the curve to make gaming 'immersive' you're going to enjoy the extremely low pixel density of a 27" 1080p monitor.

I game on my Aorus CV27F (27", 1080p, curved) while sitting close to it...Works just fine for me! :p

It feels like it's way harder to find monitors with similar specs but not curved.

Ignorance is bliss? Of course it works, but try to imagine how much more pleasant it would look at 33% more pixel density(2560x1440).

Just for reference:
The pixels per inch of a 27" 1080p screen is around 82.
A 27" 1440p monitor is around 109.
Most low end 4.5-6" phones are around 250.
A 55" 4k(UHD) TV is around 81.

So a 27" 1080p monitor has around the same pixels per inch of a 55" 4k TV, but how close does the normal person sit to a 55" TV? Probably not many people sitting 1-2' away from them.

This is why a curved 27" 1080p monitor is... not ideal, because the pixel density is so low, hence sitting close to a 27" 1080p curved monitor is not ideal.

In short 22-24" is ideal for 1080p. 27-32" for 1440p(32" 1440p=24" 1080p). Past that, either 4k or ultrawide's are ideal.

It makes them brighter, though. Transmittance is affected by viewing angle enhancements and pixel aperture ratios. Big pixels with a narrow cone of focus offer color brilliance.

Informative post (hence why I Liked it) but none of it matters to me. I can't use anything lower than a 27" monitor due to my visual impairment, and anything over 32" (which I find a bit too big anyway) would take up precious real-estate on my desk. And I can't game on anything over 1080p because of said vision problems; higher resolutions make everything so tiny that I have to strain to see it.

Welp, that's f-ing lame. More 1080p garbage forward into 2020 and probably 2021, because they can squeeze out every single coin and brainless, overhyped consumers will buy into any marketing stunt... I truly wish internet didn't exist, so we could grab tech magazines off local vendors to learn about new tech trendings like back in the days! I also wish the internet didn't exist, so eSports titles wouldn't chain and drag the whole gaming evolution industry backwards, because manufacturers and devs only care about what grosses them most revenue and not what pushes knowledge and innovation further... If overall gaming industry won't get better by the next 10 years, I might as well quit this hobby entirely.

EDIT: btw I'm not judging the use of 1080p in general, I'm judging brands for rehashing the same crap over and over when we already have like a 100 monitor options for 1080p. Pretty sure this is another generic AUO VA panel.

hello guys.

Between Samsung C27FG70 and Asus VG27VQ:
Which one should I choose for gaming?
