For the time being, high-refresh is at odds with HDR support. We need both of these properly supported (and affordable), before we can conclude we past 144Hz refresh rates.To be honest I think the vast majority of people are probably still using 60Hz/75Hz displays. Higher refresh rate and resolution displays are becoming more afford tough in both segments however. I think AMD been moving in the correct direction to be fair it's making some headway on raising the minimum refresh rate standards higher while having a even bigger emphasis on resolution quality which is of more overall importance as whole especially outside of strictly gaming.
