Hi,
No it's designed to throttle like grandmas wheel chair at 100c that is tj max lol
Default settings should never come close to that.

Not true again. This chip is designed to work in temps up to 100 C. According to Intel, all these are safe working temperatures, longterm. Anything below 90 is considered more than satisfying. That's the reason I mention "proper" paste. Old generation pastes work up to 110 C and in short time start to degrade and loose their cooling properties. New pastes work in up to 200 C and perform perfectly in these hot conditions.
Yep, looked it up and its true about the 100 C thank you very much!

Designed to work "up to 100c" OP is hitting 100c so it's at it's thermal limit and will be throttling to maintain that or lower temp, just because you have a 500bhp engine that can hit 210mph, doesn't mean it will last if you are constantly driving at 210mph, it's under more stress than it is designed for, sure, it will hit 210mph but you will need to replace everything more often than if it was just driven under normal conditions with the odd 210mph ride just because you can. Not sure where you get your logic, do you have a desktop machine? My 1600af will run at up to 95c apparently but there's no way I would run it at close to that for any amount of time, same goes with Intel desktop chips, it is not good for the long term life of the CPU to be running at its maximum operating temperature, period!

100c is tjmax, you are correct and it is throttling at that point to maintain 100c or lower

Repaste. Set ThrottleStop correctly. Mine was 2 weeks old when I repasted it. With both of the above all is good now. You skip one of them and Thermal throttling is back again.
I did similar, good thermal paste made a difference but these things also dust up quickly, and don't run it on a duvet or carpet.
I have the 2060 version.

What country are you in, opening up the laptop in the US will not void the warranty. Most likely sounds like the paste is dry or not enough.

I can't imagine it would anywhere I didn't remove any warranty sticker, the bottom comes off easy, just remember where the two short bolts live and final separation is a bit tense but okay.
