Noctua's Monster Fanless High-TDP Cooler Delayed to 2021: Roadmap

Launch of Noctua's large fanless CPU cooler designed for high TDP scenarios - more realistically, running premium desktops fanless - has been delayed to Q1 2021, according to a FanlessTech report citing a company roadmap. Noctua has been working on this cooler for some time now, with the early prototypes exhibited back in the 2019 Computex. In May 2020, we reported citing OC3D that the cooler was closer to launch, and expected to come out within 2020. Noctua's product roadmap looks pretty spartan for the remainder of 2020, with Black trims of the NH-D15S and NH-U9S expected in Q3, and Redux variants of various CPU coolers expected in Q4. Several CPU cooler launches have been pushed to Q1 2021, possibly bunched up for CES. Unfortunately, CTA put out some bad news on Tuesday.

Honestly just get the Arctic P12 PWM in Black. Everyone who reviewed it was amazed by how quiet and yet strong performing it was and how its rivaling Noctuas lineup. No need to mess with brown/beige colored fans

There is no high TDP scenarios in to sound recording studios.
Noctua this is Taiwan high quality of manufacturing, I have no doubt that this cooler it is a great performer.
But I have one difficulty to understand the application and the room temperature conditions which this product will be useful.

IMO the rest of the roadmap is more interesting (even if this cooler is also interesting as a curiosity). A shame that the NF-A14x25 isn't coming until at least Q2 '21.

Poor Noctua, the semi-passivecooler had launched about 10 years. https://www.chiphell.com/article-115-1.html HR-02 is already don't need fan mounted, and the successor had launched after 3 years, HR-22. Noctua just squeezes paste like INTEL.

I'm more interested in the next-gen NH-D15.

The A12x25 has 52% more static pressure and sounds completely different. In my Cerberus X build I have to crank up my 5 x NF-A12x25s up to 1500RPM before they drown out the sound of my 2 x NF-A12x15s at 1100RPM.

For a company who's focus is solely on cooling, I don't get how Noctua takes 2-3 years to do a color change when they took "only" 4 years to develop the NF-A12x25, . It seems like all the new products they do drag on and on and delay after delay.

Also, you should remove ".webp" from the image address - for some reason it shows in the editor, but not in the actual post (at least in Firefox). The straight .png link works just fine.

I have 6 P12 and 2 P14 in my main PC. i just run them @800RPM for the P12 and 600 RPM for the P14 and its super quiet! I tried bequiet! and noctua but i dont like their sound profile so all Arctic for me

If you really need a black A12x25 just buy BeQuiet! SilentWings 3.

Unless you need your fans to run greater than 1500 rpm you're going to get the same performance.

Optimum Tech begs to differ. I have two of the low-speed SW3s on my front intake radiator, and I'm planning on replacing them with NF-A12x25s. The SW3s aren't bad at all, but the Noctuas will perform better at the same noise level, so worth it for me.
(edit: it's worth pointing out that OT made a follow-up including the Arctic P12 and Nidec GT, both of which are closer to the Noctuas than anything tested in the video linked above.)

I have used both fans and to me they're both inaudible at 1000 rpm and unless my ear is right up to the chassis they both whisper at 1500. Personally, when I set up a fan-curve, I don't even think about getting to 100% unless I'm close to throttling. 1500 would be a very worst-case scenario, but I understand that some people are less noise-oriented and just want to push their overclock as high as they can go.

Going by TPU's own testing the CFM through radiator performance margin is negligible between the two at 1250 and 1500 rpm, granted the Noctua technically performs slightly better.

I also don't care about the color scheme so I bought the Noctua's the minute they were available. When I built my co-worker's PC I used the BeQuiet just so everything matched.

Such cooling blocks they are not benefit due DC Fans at over 80CFM.
I give my vote to GELID Silent 14 ( FN-PX14-12 ) and I also have the awareness that it 126 CFM capacity this it will not make any night to day difference.

Speaking of price the GELID Silent 14, lowest retail price this is 11 Euro with tax, remove retail profit, remove tax, this DC fan leaves Hong Kong at factory price less or equal to 2.5 USD dollar per unit.
Therefore the exotic Chinese prices of 20 ~ 30 $ USD this is stealing of people money.
At 20 ~ 30 $ USD you are getting Japanese quality of DC fans with written warranty and from a factory with name and address and 35 years of experience at making DC fan.

Did you really look at the numbers in that link? CFM between the two is indeed about the same, but noise at the same rpm is >3dBA higher for the SW3. That's definitely a noticeable difference. So, with the Noctuas you can either run the fans faster for more cooling at the same noise level or run them at the same speed for less noise. Both are better. The difference is by no means massive, but that is to be expected. It's still better. My SW3s top out at just above 1500rpm, and at that provide just enough cooling. They're definitely audible at that speed, though at anything below 1200rpm I hear my water pump much more clearly. This is exactly why I want to move to the NF-A12x25 - more cooling available should I need it, and more quiet in the ~1500rpm range where I currently have sufficient cooling.

isn't actually OT. I have personal experience with the latter, and plan to move to the former, a version of which is a part of this topic (at least if one sees it as a discussion of the attached Noctua roadmap generally and not just the passive cooler overall). As for what the rest of your post is about, I have no idea.
