ZALMAN today refreshed its entry-level tower-type CPU cooler, the CNPS4X, to keep up with the times - RGB LED illumination, with the introduction of the new CNPS4X RGB. A classic tower-type CPU cooler, the CNPS4X RGB features an aluminium fin-stack to which heat is conveyed by two 6 mm-thick copper heat pipes that make direct contact with the CPU at the base; ventilated by an included 92 mm fan. The fan takes in 4-pin PWM connection for its main function, spins between 1,000-2,000 RPM, pushing up to 44 CFM of air with 1.77 mm H₂O static pressure, and a durable bearing that's rated for 50,000 hours. The cooler supports sockets LGA1200, LGA115x, and AM4. The CNPS4X RGB stands 13.2 cm tall, and weighs 360 g. ZALMAN rates the cooler as being capable of handling thermal loads of up to 95 W. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Remember the days when Zalman used to come out with some absolutely mad lad coolers?

Now they are wading into a market that is already saturated the samey samey tower coolers. If this costs $20 - thats too much compared to the snowman coolers on aliexpress.

How is a 2 heatpipe, 92mm cooler a clone of a 4 heatpipe, 120mm cooler?

I have a 7700 AlCu on my Q9500 rig. Zalman was indeed great back in the day. :rockout:

I am still using the Zalman CNPS11 Extreme, I guess I will have to replace it when I upgrade though, I doubt I will get a bracket that will support the latest socket types.

I was being sarcastic, but the overall design is indeed very similar to the 212...just a tad smaller with smaller fans....so to me, it is still just a cheap attempt at copying an older, proven and well documented cooler just so they can say they have one in their lineup....

Would I put one on a 10xxx series cpu ? nope, notta, no way, no how, but that is not, nor will it ever be, the 212's intended usage either :)
