CHIEFTEC, a world-wide renowned brand for reliable PC chassis and power supplies, today announces the CW-01B-OP, a new high-performance workstation case, built from 0.7 mm strong steel with an abundance of functional flexibility and an airflow-focused design. The CW-01B-OP provides users with the ability to build a system that fully suits their needs, whether that requires three 5.25" external drive bays, a 3.5" external drive bay or up to seven internal (3.5" or 2.5") drive bays. Top radiator installation, two 120 mm fans in the front, one 140 mm fan in the bottom, as well as a maximum graphics card length of 410 mm, are all features the CW-01B-OP masters with ease.

Combining a modern, timeless design, featuring brushed aluminium and filtered mesh, with the high functional flexibility, the Chieftec CW-01B-OP is a companion for the ages, built to last, perform and look great years on.

Wow, talk about a blast from the past.
I mean, they used to make some solid cases, but this is just a bit out of touch with the times...

Do they even make black face plates for floppy drives?
Yes, I had one at some point in time. They were usually not quite the same colour as the case though and they were also more expensive than the PC beige ones...
I also had something like this at one point. The card reader kept disconnecting from the USB bus though...

I still like 5.25 bays because of all sorts of random attachments that fit inside of 5.25 bays.

For example, if I'm making my own NAS, I'm inevitably going to buy a 5.25 External Hard Drive bay for that nice hot-swap action.

Ooof, I can't imagine the ones that aren't this world-wide renowned. Awfully high bar.

You laugh all you want, but having more expansion bays never hurt. I can live without Type-C for another 5 or so years(maybe more), since there isn't a single device on a market that can't do the same thing over type-A plug, and regular A-to-C cables cost less than half of an equivalent C-to-C cable. I have type-C on my motherboard, I had type-C on my laptop and on my DeskMini, but for as long as it existed, I've never-ever used it.
And while you enjoy your airflow-blocking RGB-blinging acrylic faceplates, I will stick couple of laptop drives into my 3.5" dual-drive caddy, watch a few episodes of Doom Patrol, stick a 3.5" drive into a 5.25" caddy to recover some photos, take a lunch break, and ultimately get paid for my services, all for pushing a few buttons on my "outdated" chassis. Also, I didn't hear that there's a worldwide ban on internal card readers, USB hubs or expansion brackets (all of which for me is a must, 'cause who knows what kind of weird stuff I'll get in my workshop tomorrow).

New case.
No USB-C.
FAIL.
Please tell me, how many Type-C devices do you have, and whether any of them came with Type-A to Type-C cable?

No, but you can always spray the whole case beige to match the drives.

New case. No USB-C. FAIL.
Unlike the vast majority of permanently crippled front-bay-less "greenhouse" cases which also lack USB-C, the difference here being the presence of drive bays = for the sake of $10 you can add your own front bay extender which adds 1 or 2x USB C ports, maybe even 2x fast charge A ports wired direct to the PSU. It's amazing the number of people who forget that front bays are about a lot more than just optical drives.

Indeed. And unlike a lot of stupid cases today, this case is clearly designed with a good amount of air-flow, ample GPU-space. Sure, you can't fit a radiator on the front, but you can still fit a radiator on the top. Lets be frank: most of us aren't getting a front radiator anyway.

Both 5.25" bays and 3.5" bays have uses: SD Card readers, USB C, Hard Drive hotswap loaders... or even just a small shelf... to name a few things that fit in the 5.25" or 3.5" bay. Even if I don't use a CDROM or 3.5" floppy anymore, its still useful.

Guess people aren't into bay device fan controllers anymore. I liken it to manual transmission vs. auto.

I rather like the idea of a switch flip to go from silent running to max cooling.

Its all automated now - You can set duty profiles in the bios and have it automatically do it for you.

True. It is kind of amazing how much control mainboards give over fan speed profiles.

Modern cases make my old Mountain Mods look like scrap metal.
