Ubisoft has recently released their free to play battle royale style game Hyper Scape on console and PC. The first-person shooter offers a unique twist in the crowded market with heavy Twitch integration which affects the outcome of each match. The games technical test appeared to be a major hit topping the Twitch viewership charts for the day but has quickly dropped to just 11,000 viewers far below the likes of Fall Guys, Fortnite, Apex Legends, and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.

Ubisoft has partnered with NVIDIA to release the game on GeForce NOW with free bonus content for subscribers. GeForce NOW members can now claim an exclusive GeForce NOW Hyper Scape content pack which includes a Season One Battle Pass Token, three rare skins, and epic Boxer Shuffle Emote. This content pack is valued at ~25.00 USD. Ubisoft has considerable experience in the Esports sector with Rainbow Six Siege so it will be interesting to see if they can create that same global phenomenon with Hyper Scape.

Yep, you're too late, the hype is over, and I'm really glad its starting to go there. This just oozes generic so hard, I can't look at it. Yes, we get it, you can all copy paste avenger style characters. Yawn

How about going to back to creating games with soul and an actual face instead of this 13-a-dozen junk.

Agreed, though this is Ubisoft we're talking about. The studio that keeps churning out "Tom Clancy" games 7 years after the guy's death that have absolutely nothing to do with his work, and of course the annual Far Cry 3 : Retexture Pack 5 cash-cow because they literally can't come up with a single new idea whatsoever...

clearly you two never looked up what the game is, with its high speed verticality & not fixed respawn points

always the ubi/ea/epic trash talkers repeat the same crap no matter what gets released, all that crying isnt good for hydration

ubi released a game where you fly as an eagle, beyond good & evil is still coming... in fact there's another ubi event later this year, gee what would they show if they already had FC & AC last month

ea is still publishing semi-independent games like the yarn puzzle platformer, respawn's star wars game is said to be good by most people

but none of that seems to matter to those with a victim complex

Most of what Ubisoft does out of their big franchises is actually pretty damn bad. Eagle... yeah. Nice. For 30 minutes, because there isn't more to see, its one of those typical glorified VR tech demos. Beyond good & Evil, is nice, when was the last release? 2003. Its 2020 already, if you hadn't noticed ;) Game's still not out and was slated for a PS4 release, now the PS5 etc. is around the corner.

Something about priorities and budgets... you know? Apparently there is money to get a yearly or bi-yearly AC/FC out, but BG&E somehow takes them nearly two decades. Strange.

Heroes of Might and Magic... has been practically frozen in time since HOMM3. But still re-released often, each sequel worse than before, in some way or another.
Might & Magic... let's not speak of the half-abandoned product that was released last and pretty much killed any hope of revival.
Anno... has been a reskin of itself since the first part. Not necessarily bad, but original? Hardly. And its still a pretty stale game if you ask me, after all these iterations.

Want me to go over EA as well? I can... In case you think we're missing things ;)

Regardless, I still have Ubi in a somewhat higher regard than the likes of EA or Activision right now. EA is simply a money grabbing whore and it won't ever change, sometimes she takes the diva attitude with you because it needs to win back hearts, then its right back into commercial dystopia, both towards consumers as well as devs and studios. Better count your blessings, Respawn might not live long, you can check history for the many, many examples of great studios that got spreadsheeted into the ground. Similarly, I won't deny that its studios can deliver solid content. But that isn't EA's forte, I'd rather say that in spite of EA's influence its a miracle they still get good product out sometimes.

bge2's official announcement is 2017, i'm not going to heavily weigh story or other concept tests prior (unless it was like duke forever's re-re-restarted duplicate work), various movies also have ended up with multi year delayed preproduction then ended up great regardless

ea's list of closed studios is short in recent years isnt it, i cant consider it the same for the rest of its lifetime as people age & change (riccitiello is gone for example), i do remember how great it was in the 90s under the same ea name

i'd prefer to count every single game one by one & analyze each new or updated feature for an accurate non-emotional debate, but i really dont feel like it, these companies employ thousands of people & have open stocks, this basically requires a fairly large amount of safe consistent income, they cant exactly act like valve

in an age of backlogs & fantastic indies, what's the point of all the energy forums keep wasting on what the usual AAAs are doing, we're not big investors so why do they owe use anything? do we really need a 2007 release season to happen every year? only full time game press people can keep up with that

plus, many individual devs switch between studios, some of which grow out into their own, so at the very least the generic AAA games offer complex work experience all around the world

(btw, you said "This just oozes generic so hard", which sounded like it's about the characters, but it's a first person fast paced game not a third person movie... meanwhile the other person simply exaggerated "literally can't come up with a single new idea whatsoever" because boohoo there's not enough creativity in the thousands of available games across half a century)
