First and foremost, please let me know if im in the wrong forum. Thanks!

I'm building my first pc and im not very sure what parts are the best. The idea is to build a computer that can handle my everyday needs while double as a decent gaming pc but not like a heavy gaming pc. My budget is just over $1000. Here is what i have so far.
Screen Shot 2020-08-22 at 2.11.41 PM.png

Any advice would be helpful. Please let me know what you would do better, if there is anything missing, or something unnessassary i have listed. Thank You so much!!!

$400 for 2060 super seems steep. You may want to hold off until prices drop when new cards release next few months. Aim for about $250 new or second- hand.

Some comments
1. you need a case.
1.5 you need a power supply
2. you don't need optical drives
3. get rid of the barracuda and get an ssd (don't use spindles if you don't need to)
4. get 3600 mhz memory
5. don't spend $85 on a cooler for that chip
6. Don't spend $108.78 for a windows 10 license, you can get a license from a graymarket site for like $10
7. Upgrade your monitor to 1440P

hdd and dual optical what is this 2003 xD

On a more serious note: You didn't select a case, didn't select SSD; selected a cooler that's way overkill (well, if you plan on upgrading I guess), and a poor gpu given context (2070 costs the same as 2060S, but is better). Oh, the B450 is obsolete now there's B550.

Aside from gaming you haven't specified what you're going to use the computer for so it's kind of hard to recommend or comment on your build, what I would say is an ssd drive is a must for the os, do you really need 2 dvdrw drives? I haven't used one in years.. You have no power supply listed also

Not bad!

He might have a requirement for the odd's which is why I also questioned them though by and large they are outdated and not really required by most people these days
Why not keep the hdd storage and get a 512gb ssd OS drive, I doubt a 2tb ssd will fit into his budget
+1 on the windows license
those gskill rams should be able to overclock to 3600 so depending on the cost of 3600 ram if its any more than 20/30$ then I personally wouldn't bother

get your self a good PSU. its the most important piece of your rig and the best investment try for a make like seasonic at least 500w if you can get them near you. and goodluck, some fine parts you have picked i think you will have a nice rig when your finnished

I do consider this as the worst advice ever.
While Microsoft will not solve any of your problems because you will become an OEM license owner.
The legal operating system this will keep you away from the dark internet.

The most wise choice this is getting RETAIL version of windows, and this will reactivate if you switch a motherboard or five motherboards.

As second recommendation, if Win10 graphic interface this is a source of evil to you.
You may get Win7 Pro Retail as used from eBay, box and DVD media and license, the complete blue box.
I did that too, but I do care for productivity than making decisions in favor of Gaming compatibility.

Dark Internet? Woah slow down I think he was referring to the key sites that advertise on tpu, not getting on tor and buying underground body organs with stolen credit card details

Making a note of how I get Windows 10 in the USA:

Get a LICENSE KEY from SCDKey ( or whoever TPU may promote ) and I pay with Paypal. NO CREDIT/ DEBIT CARD NEEDED! Less then $20.

Then:

-----

Optical drives are outdated. Unless you have games on disk. But why two?

Are you going to be playing any games that require a Ray Tracing card?

M.2 SSD NVMe drive is missing in your pick list.

Seagate 7200 RPM drive, great for game storage. Not so great for loading Windows.

That Ryzen 5 3600 should already have a Wraith Stealth cooler, so you wouldn't need to spend extra on the be quiet! unit.

You can get by with just 16GB of DDR4 RAM. Upgrade to 32 GB later on.

600 watt 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Power supply with 5 year or more warranty.

The free cooler that comes with the R5 3600 is fine, you can always upgrade later if you disagree with me, but you definitely don't need an $85 cooler for a 3600.

Buy an A520 board instead of a 2-year-old B450 board at this point. They're functionally similar but the A520 will likely support newer processors if/when you come to upgrading. You should be able to find a decent A520 board for $100 with a VRM heatsink and 4 memory slots.

Ditch the Seagate Barracude and replace it with a 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD. WD Blue SN550, Kingston A2000, and Sabrent Rocket are reasonable budget options. By the time you run out of space 4TB SSDs will probably be affordable, or you can always just buy a mechanical drive and add it in later if you really need more space.

Don't buy a retail Windows 10 license for $109. Microsoft give it to OEMs for next to nothing and you can buy a grey-market OEM license for $6 that is every bit as genuine as the $109 version. TPU even runs ads for a couple of companies selling those licenses about once a week on the front page feed.

If you still have DVDs now is the time to rip them to disk and abandon optical media for good. Optical drives are becoming extinct and the media itself degrades over time. Unless you are very careful about how you store your discs, you may find that many of the discs you burned as recently as 5 years ago are already unreadable.

Does a A520 board allow running IF/RAM/Memory controller above 2933/3200 MHz?

All the motherboard vendors are claiming DDR4-4400 or higher on their A520 product specs.

As for FCLK speeds, I'd assume A520 supports 1:1 all the way up, but don't actually know for sure. I'm guessing yes though - DDR4 clock and FCLK are linked. It would be weird to put a limit on one and not the other.

it's like the other has answered the question, now how much you gonna spend for your pc

since you said that it's your first pc, you gonna build it by yourself or you gonna give it to some one to build it
if you gonna build by yourself and it's your first build i suggest back to basic first although it looks easy in reality you may find it little bit difficult and there always a risk you "kill" your hardware by mishandling it

You won't get higher then 3933 1:1 on ryzen 3000 any higher ram than that and you will have to decouple the if to run at a lower ratio than the ram with a loss of performance
