PSU connection help: 6-pin to 8-pin??

Hello. I'm very confused here on what to do.

Just got the Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 5700 XT. It has 2, 8-pin slots for power.

I have a X4 Ultra 850W PSU. should be plenty to power the card I'd imagine.... Problem is the only cables available from the PSU after removing the old GPU are 2 separate 6-PIN cables.

My plan was to just get two, 6 to 8-pin adapter cables and plug them into the card?

Is this safe? I also don't want to underpower the GPU.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Yes and your PSU is fine for that GPU.
Specs show it has quad 12V rails with 60A on each.
Pictures of your PSU show it has 8 pin PCI-e cable for GPUs (6+2)

Combine the 2 pin with the 6pin for the required 8 pins connector. It’s configurable as either a 6 or 8 pin connector.

Unfortunately, there isn't a 2-pin. Only 6-pin (2 of them)
It shows it on the box the psu came in.

I purchased this from someone used. Perhaps they removed it or it's in use elsewhere in the case? Either way, it's not included. If there are empty spots on the PSU unit itself, I suppose I can purchase a cable and route right from the PSU unit to the GPU as well? Thanks for your help.

You could try looking for replacement cables for the psu, of course that money might as well go towards a new psu.

Here is a pic of the PSU currently. There seems to be 2 available 8 pin spots. I could theoretically get 2 8 pin cables and run direct from PSU to GPU? Surely that's more affordable and less complex than a new power supply..?

Usually the connectors directly on the psu are proprietary to the psu Manufacture.

You could search eBay or other sites etc to see if you can buy the missing cables for that PSU separately, or if the manufacturer is easy to get hold of then they might be able to sell you the cables for it. If none of those options are available then the 6 to 8 pin should be fine.

Meaning they can't be used?

Look for 8 pin extension cable , check also AKASA accessories , they produce quality cable extensions.
