Laptop cpu upgrade from i7-8750h to i9-9980hk

Hi i have an Aorus 15 X9 with a i7-8750H as CPU and Intel HM370 as Chipset. Yeah, i know , its soldered, its's not an easy game. I don't want to do this by my hands, i want to buy or contract a service from a specialized technical service to do this. But code problems appears in the way... i need to put cpuid 906ed microcode in the bios, how can i do that and unlock the multipliers of the bios? according to platomav's MC Extractor it is the same platform. i used/looked aorus 15 x9 bios and aorus 15 xa bios, both computers are very similar one is the upgrade from the other. The i7-9750h its the diference between them. Someone can give me a hand to not brick my computer in the bios upgrade?

Cost of doing what you want outweighs the value of your laptop
Your need a professional reball and replacment of the CPU as its BGA ( That will be expensive)
your better off selling current laptop and investing in a new laptop ( and your probably save money ).

i asked for the service and is 50 dolars for reballing, but i need more than reballing?

Yeah, you'd probably need a 9980hk. Where are you going to get one of these? How much will it cost?

is XA motherboard identical to X9? It looks like that.
Dumb-flashing with the XA bios might do the trick, and in such case that bios should run your current cpu just fine. Anyway, get in contact with someone who will help you in case of bad flash.

Last but not least - do you really need this cpu upgrade?

So you're going to keep on running cinebench all day? That's a weird use case.


Are you really fine with potentially bricking this laptop? Cause that's one of possible outcomes of stuff you're planning to do.

If you don't have proper tools to recover from a bad flash, don't do it. Sometimes using a clip with an external programmer is ok. Sometimes the chip needs desoldering.

sell your lappy and get the one you want, dont mess about reballing another cpu and messing with bios code your setting yourself up to be dissapointed bro it will cost you morethan its worth honist.

$130 for cpu +$50 reball then you have to sort out bios and risk bricking motherboard

I would think long and hard about this as you could end up with $180 out of pocket and a bricked laptop
+ very much doubt if you could offset some of the cost by selling old deballed cpu (who the wuck would buy it).

Its kind of hard giving you a golden shower.................but some one's got to step up to the WC

it cant be a double perfomance difference between 6c/12t cpu and a 8c/16t one.... Differences are not noticable so much and since it is a mobile cpu, which is far more crippled than a desktop alternative, i really don't know what is for this gimmick....
