Oh sweet baby Jesus, the 3070 is sweet for its price/performance. Not even bothered by 8 gb ram in this case as it’s totally a 1440p card where this buffer will be just fine. Wonder though if they will push super out with 2-4 more gigs. Doesn’t matter, I need my 3070 in time for cbp2077. Now only to decide if I upgrade to b550 or z490, which is a tough choice at the moment.

Any sane air cooling enthusiast can see that NVidia left a dumpster fire for Intel and AMD to deal with, by dumping the GPU VRM heat right into the CPU. Don't forget the poor motherboard makers too, with their VRMs overheating now. And possibly RAM. With the 3090, you can't have passively cooled RAM or mobo VRM anymore.

So gotta get the right card right away. Right now I can force SLI profiles on quite a few games and it works with pretty decent scaling (have two GTX 1070s). Getting a 3070 and then another a year down the road would have been nice....

Welp! I don't have the live stream. Is RTX 3070 supposed to be twice as fast as 2080 Ti without raytracing, too, or only with RT on?

If it's twice the rasterization performance this is actually an amazing new lineup! I was set for disappointment, thought we were going to have another turing debut on our hands, which I had found very underwhelming. This is actually great!

That doesn't exactly matter if the CPU is water cooled. At least with this design, only about half the heat of the card theoretically is actually dumped back into the case where as custom designs from board partners, all of it is. And VRMs usually dont run hotter than the GPU itself so.

Haha I feel so bad I sold my 2080 Ti to this dude a month ago for $1300 and he thought he got such a good deal because I included a $150 waterblock and the card was $1350 new.. Now it's worth barely $500 lmao
