Not gonna lie, I don't game nearly as much as I used to, and the games that I do still play run perfectly fine on my RX570. (Heck, they ran fine on my GTX960 too before that conked out.) I'll sit out this generation, even though it looks very good. There's no reason to upgrade for upgrading's sake.

I'm going to wait for what AMD comes out with. Even if AMD's product doesn't live up to nVidia's new product, I won't care as long as it won't break my bank account. These prices are stupid high!

Does everyone understand that the 3080 is a flagship (non titan) for $800 that smokes a 2080ti...and that the 3090 is a titan replacement?

$500 is too much for 2080ti like performance?

You're drinking the Tu markup kool-aid. ;)

3090 isn't a Titan replacement. Prove it to yourself: It's got the same gimped half rate tensor accumulate limitation as the rest of the gaming range. Titan is likely incoming, either with 16Gbit GDDR6 like Quadro 6k or next year with 16Gbit GDDR6X. They've even left space for a 16Gbit GDDR6X GA Quadro 8k for 2021.

The GTX 980 “smokes” the GTX 780TI.
The GTX 1080 “smokes” the GTX 980TI.
The RTX 2080 “smokes” the GTX 1080TI
The RTX 3080 is 25/30% faster then the 2080TI. (Waiting for benchmarks)

So it is nothing special, they doin it for years now.

34 mins in... he starts talking about Titan and then whips out the 3090 from the oven in the same breath. He also mentions that the 3080 is the flagship just after 30 mins in and the subsequent slide says THE NEW FLAGSHIP. @steen - what does that infer to you? Isn't this the biggest die they have? Quadro does not equal Titan...

The GTX 980 “smokes” the GTX 780TI.
The GTX 1080 “smokes” the GTX 980TI.
The RTX 2080 “smokes” the GTX 1080TI

So it is nothing special, they doin it for years now.
980 is 5% faster than 780ti. (@ $50 less)
1080 is 8% faster than a 980ti. (@ $50-$100 more)
2080 vs 1080ti was the only large leap, 23% - ( @ the same price)

Ill say again..
$500 is too much for 2080ti like performance?
That was an $1100 card. So for well less than half, supposedly 2080ti performance.

Pending other benchmarks of course. :)

I think Wiz puts current pricing on old items in new reviews :(. You need to compare launch MSRP to launch MSRP.

FTR, I pulled my data from TPU launch day reviews of the 980, 1080, and 2080 using the 2560x1440/1600 resolution (where these cards all play, or higher).
