Sharkoon today introduced the REV220, an ATX mid-tower case with its motherboard oriented such that the motherboard IO wires out from the top, SilverStone Raven RV02-style. This allows both the front and rear panel of the case to feature large fan vents, particularly its rear panel having two 120 mm rear exhausts. Inside, the motherboard tray serves up room for graphics cards up to 32.3 cm in length, CPU coolers up to 16.5 cm in height, and PSUs up to 20 cm in length, with the PSU bay being located toward the bottom rear end, as in most tower-type cases.

Ventilation features of the Sharkoon REV220 include three 140 mm/120 mm front intakes, which can hold a 360 mm x 120 mm or 280 mm x 140 mm radiator; and two 140 mm/120 mm mounts, which can hold a 240 mm x 120 mm radiator. The right side panel is made of tempered glass. Storage options include two 3.5-inch trays in the bottom compartment that can each hold 2.5-inch drives, and four 2.5-inch mounts. Front panel connectivity includes two each of USB 3.0 type-A and USB 2.0, along with HDA jacks. RGB embellishments include an ARGB light strip along the front panel, and two included 120 mm fans that are pre-installed along the rear panel. A 6-channel ARGB controller comes pre-installed. The case measures 48.0 cm x 21.5 cm x 48.5 cm, dry weighing 9 kg. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Serious missed opportunity for a high airflow mesh panel on the front.
Also not sure why they saw the need to put the motherboard on the inverse side as well as rotate 90 degrees.
I'd prefer the glass on the left and the motherboard too.

if mb was to the left side then processor would be behind front fans and fans of gpu would face back of the case.
this way airflow would be back to front rather than front to back.
all cases with vertical gpu are with inverse side mb. check silverstone ravens (rv-03 is standard case with addon cards on the back)

In case you didnt notice, its all because of the RTX 3000 series. This rotation of the motherboard ( seen yesterday ) gives to the GPU tons of air and proper air circulation.

It's the same thing, some of the air goes out the back some out the top. There is no difference, it's just switched around.

This is made particulary for RTX 3000 Founders edition GPU's.

Remember the air flow picture that Nvidia showed at launch.

You just jogged my memory, thanks! I remember seeing a system at a convention a few years back with a rotated motherboard design like the case here, and for the life of me I couldn't remember what it was until now. :)

That's what I was thinking.
but I would cut the PSU bracket out and either mount internally or traditionally at the rear, and put the front fascia back with mesh or multiple drilled holes back on to the "new" front of the case.

No front C though, all new cases should have it, as lots of new bords come with it now.

^^THIS^^ thanks tigger :)

NO C-NO buy-NO excuses

I've been saying this for almost 2 years now, I'm glad to see that someone else agrees...:respect:..:D..

Also I must add in my obligatory "y.a.w.n." too, 'cause this case is a real snoozerfest IMHO !

Benchmark Scores I once clocked a Celeron-300A to 564MHz on an Abit BE6 and it scored over 9000.
OMG, something a little different!

Given the focus on front-to-back airflow I am definitely confused at the choice of a solid front panel.

The main difference is the weight of the card, instead of sagging it will be straight in this case.
