Scalpers and scammers things are all made by Nvidia. They made up this thing to show that there is high-demand so there is an excuse for raising the prices.
Why these scammers and scalpers aren't doing anything with Nvidia's RTX 2xxx cards? Because Nvidia simply made up the whole thing.
Governments national and international organizations and police must investigateall these things.

İt is Nvidia's right to price their products at what ever price they want BUT You just can't put your products on eBay with double the price and then say their is demand issue. Or claim you have released a product but actually you haven't. You just send the to reviewers. This is definitely ILLEGAL.
Please produce either your evidence or a photo of you in your tinfoil hat.

Dammit people are worked up over nothing that really matters. :shadedshu:

I see comments on Reddit and here about who got a card and how many were at the store. I keep an eye on nowinstock.net and read the history to see what I missed. There are no cards available. There's probably like 10,000 RTX 3080s out there right now, and fewer 3090s. I have rarely ever seen such low stock of anything, including consoles at launch. You can't camp out at a store right now, and if you could I'm sure it would still be hard to get one. Microcenter is a ways away from where I live, I can't reasonably get a card when they are getting batches of dozens of cards every 4 days. Nvidia essentially did a paper launch to beat AMD's Navi to the market. You can tell by seeing how many cards have been sold on Ebay. If you assume the stupid punks with the sneaker-buying bots (not kidding) are getting half the cards, and they sell mostly on Ebay, then the 2,500 cards sold on Ebay to date plus the ones waiting to be sold to suckers would suggest that this launch is a piece of shit.

I hope the new EVGA reservation system works, I've actually had a notification set for a while on the 3080 Black and XC3. I'm going to lower the power limit to 80-90% and run it on my Corsair SF600 Platinum, if I ever get a card to test and see if the rumors are true and Ampere is juiced way past the ideal MHz to V ratio. $800 burning a hole in my pocket, here. PLEASE DON'T RELEASE A NEW CARD UNTIL YOU CAN ACTUALLY SELL TO MORE THAN 10,000 PEOPLE, NVIDIA.

I never talk about something I have not experienced. I am not accusing them of doing that now but giving my reason why I don't buy their cards. Those were my first GPU purchases. I played one Game at the time (Total War) which loves Multi GPU so you can imagine after I bought a 2nd 450 and was totally enjoying double the FPS until a driver update disabled SLI for the 450. That is not an accusation but a fact.

Do you also play TW Warhammer? You do hold your grudges like a true Dwarf :D

No but joking aside, I get that. I'd be pretty annoyed too and I'd keep that with me for some years... but this is a 450, that is what, two decades ago?

Jensen Huang is a disgrace. What a low opinion he has of his customers.

Ampere lies and deception is the worst we've ever seen from Nvidia. How far will they push this whole assault on their loyal and gullible fans?

What next, an 8GB 8K card? A 500W Ampere Titan?

What are you even on about? Are we supposed to guess? Or just infer that you're parroting the same every other disgruntled customer does? In that case... thanks for your input.

Nvidia is a business and in it to make money. Vote with your feet. Its fine and its the way the market works. But stop whining like a bunch of children about it. Yes, scalpers exist, yes supply is limited, yes Huang tries to twist that into something they had no stake in and did everything to avoid. Yes, GPUs get marketed as the next best thing, every time. Yes, margins are maximized and often at a cost to the product's overall quality or longevity. I'm with everyone on that. I'm not with everyone when it comes to complaining about it. It is what it is. Deal with it?

I seriously still cannot fathom why everyone has its panties in a bunch. First they're assholes, next post you're annoyed you can't buy their product? What schizophrenia is this? And for you - so what if their next card is a 500W Titan with 4GB? You don't buy it. its not rocket science. The market simply dictates what happens next, right?

If you do a paper launch but say it is actual launch you are lying.
If you claim there is Unexpectedly Great Demand, you have either produce your evidence or stfu and don't lie.
Lie about price,( for instance; 999$is the lowest price of the 2080S, which was supposed to, but never ever sold for 699$)
Lie about launch
Lie about demand
Lie about scalpers

Just work your little tiny brain, why would Nvidia price the 3080, which is much faster than even 2080TI, at a much lower price, because it simply doesn't exist, nobody can buy it!! If it is really sold for that price Why would anybody buy the shitty exaggeratedly overpriced RTX 2xxx series? Why would Nvidia commit suicide?
Just use your brain please

1. It wasn't a paper launch. There was product available. It sold out quickly. In part due to unprecedent demand (as told by NV AND the partners) as well as bot activity. Why is it so hard to believe they had similar stock to Turing and more demand for a cards that are back to within the realm of 'reasonable pricing'? 25% more performance than a 2080Ti for 1/2 the price...................and people are shitting on it?!!!
2. Scalpers created by NV.. WTH drivel are you trying to say here? You believe that?
3. Lie about price? DA FUQ? Are you new to launches or something? You've been here 5 years...Come on guy.........you really think this way without any proof of your own........ yet have the fortitude to call someone else out? lulz.

I do play Total War Warhammer, every time I think I am ready to put it down they release a compelling DLC. Amazingly the 450 was released in 2011 so it's not even 10 years old (it is amazing how much has happened). I cannot say that Nvidia has not done anything desultory since 2011. There is no doubt that these cards are very compelling from a performance standpoint though (I wish I could say price)

Don't worry I like things like my Sony DBR 930 from 2000 is totally relevant with full DTS and so many accoutrements like EQ settings. Thanks to Toslink it is the base of my Home Theatre build in 2020.

I love Nvidia, they make me money. I've owned their stock for over 7 years.
I've also owned Mastercard since it went IPO, Visa since the 1st month of its IPO. So keep buying those overpriced Nvidia cards with your Visa, Mastercards.

I feel like saying "don't tell me what to do!" but that won't get me FPS...

I'm conflicted.

i paid around £1150 quid for what was a top of the line nvidia gaming card.. if i want to buy a card that is faster it will cost me around £1400 on ebay.. at this price they are readily available..

the bottom line being that if you really want something you find one that is available and for sale and you pay the asking price..

everything else is just pretend..

trog

ps.. another bottom line is.. Nvidia chose to launch a produce at a price they new full well they could not supply.. they knew exactly what would happen and knowingly launched the product..

they will launch the 3070 card in exactly the same way.. knowing full well that at the promised price they will not be able to supply..

That "evidence" stuff goes both ways =D
I think we're all responding to the theory Xaled has. Perhaps you should request that of his post since he provided the same amount of evidence (none - tinfoil hat bullshit). Note, he's the one who posted that thought, not us. The onus is on the user who provided the theory to back it up. There is logic and at least some truth to what NV said. This shiza about NV making it all up is off the rails IMO and quite frankly amounts to little more than trolling/inciting arguments.

He means that Nvidia, too, needs to show us evidence of the "high demand" and "scalpers" claims
Yeah... the thing is, what the NV CEO said makes sense versus your theory. Although these aren't comparable (one is based on facts in the case of the following analogy) this feels like a round earth to flat earth argument - clearly one side is bolgona.

You and me have incredibly diferent point of views, something that for you makes sense, for me does not. Nvidia CEO from my point of view is making all that bs up, since he does not provide any evidence more than his words, yeah, how convenient for him. He could be lying, he could be not. I believe the former.

Demand issue... yeah right. Like demand is ever an issue for a company that wants to sell stuff.
The solution: Everybody STOP buying 3080s and 3090s, and the stores will be full of them. :rockout:

He means that Nvidia, too, needs to show us evidence of the "high demand" and "scalpers" claims

Then he should of phrased it that way.

Demand issue... yeah right. Like demand is ever an issue for a company that wants to sell stuff.

Where did you note any high demand ?
If you move away from TPU and few more forums for enthusiast, there is no passion about these products.
RTX 3000 this is just a fresh product, next year it will be something else.

An wise Gamer he should practice more to improve skills than counting at high number of FPS that this alone it will take down his opponents :)

I never said anything about a high demand. I merely laughed at the Nvidia CEO's comments on a "demand issue" (whatever he means by that). :)

Personally, my only passion is playing the games I'm interested in, and building PCs. I don't give a damn about a million fps, or competitive gaming, or even getting the newest and latest on day one. Every hardware is good hardware if it suits your needs.

The old guy who is so bored from the quarantine, he decides to finally build his "Dream Machine" with the money he saved from not going to bars and eating out. Haven't had an issue getting everything I wanted except the AIB that I want for this computer. So this is all new to me since my last Homebuild about 8 years ago. I'm going to have $5000 in this thing if I ever get that TUF 3090 to match the TUF X570 mainboard and TUF VG27AQ monitor, just because I can, only to run a MS Flight Sim 2020. Getting a yoke and throttle quadrant are also being scalped and otherwise unavailable. Scalpers are business people like Trump is a businessman. Hoorah for me and screw you. 'Murica...

Let me ask you this : do you really think they got less stock for a GPU which uses a considerably smaller chip and run of the mill GDDR6 memory after a month such that they had to delay it even further ? Come on.
Oh, I agree with you that they will endeavor to have more stock for the 3070 than they did for the 3080. However, since the 3070 is lower-priced, and thus appeals to a broader market, that demand will also be larger, and perhaps by a larger proportion than supply is larger, so that the supply or demand issue is even worse... doesn't seem unlikely to me.
