Announces. But we should see more informative performance metrics, albeit of a slightly marketed nature.

Oh how interesting. RTX 3080 TI is just what I have been waiting for, now that 3080 20 gb seems to have been canceled.

Now I just hope for good price. 999 usd would be nice. 1200 usd might be to much I will pay. Time will tell.

Stores in UK have posted their shipped numbers and are far from impressive ... it is quite a bad launch, everyone knows it at this point

Not sure how would they proffit if they don't sell cards...
They may sell but in low quantity and a higher price, claiming there is high demand. Same as Nvidia has been doing with the 3xxx.

The RTX 3080 hasn't once been in stock in Portugal. It's pretty extreme.
I think at this point they temporarily abandoned the EU market and they are trying to concentrate on the US, where the market is less forgiving and the media coverage is better.

3080TI in the making = Big Navi's gonna beat 3080

I really hope RDNA2 undercuts 3080 price wise. That would mean everything needs to come down in pricing. AKA 3080TI to $699, 3080 to $599 and probably 3070 into $400 range. I'm gonna go with AMD this time around, just to help the underdog. AMD is really giving us awesome products lately. One has to reward the effort.

You may be right...
If this 3080Ti is priced around 1000~1100$ and beats the 3080 10GB by 5% (middle point from 3090) then it will make it more easy for AMD to price the higher 6000 and alleged 3080 10GB beater close to 900~1000$.

I hope not...

This is never happening. $699 for 3080 Ti ? It's not wishful thinking you are looking for miracles and these does not happen in the business.

What's so funny about that? Do you think the Radeon Graphics division is of similar size, or has a similar market share to Nvidia?

They don't have enough cores of any kind, availability is very low for both 3090 and 3080. And rumors coming from resellers seem to point out that it's the same for the 3070.

My theory is that Nvidia are holding back dies on purpose. They got spooked by AMD and now they are planning a relauch of Ampere with faster models after the Big Navi launch. (And a refresh on 7nm in the 2nd half of 2021.)

What is Nvidia doing? Launch cards that no one can buy, announce cards available only in certain markets (with pre orders), cancel another launch and tease a card that is purported to be better than what your CEO called the fastest Gaming GPU period? I hope everyone realizes that all of this noise has been an attempt to rain on AMD's parade. On top of that has it even been a month since the 3080 launched?

otherwise it is a Cartel..

This new card is going to be cut down 3090 as I suppose. It won't be rebranded 3090 that's for sure. I wouldn't be surprised if the price was $1200 for the 3080 TI or whatever it will be called.
The 3080 is already a cut down 3090 which has only 68 SMs

12GB 3080 with 78 SMs and if they don't adjust pricing to compete with AMD then I guess it would be another $200 for the higher-yield silicon and extra couple of GDDR6X modules.

Are you better than that? It is a discussion about the AMD company releasing new graphics cards. So are the graphics cards an underdog or AMD as a company or maybe AMD's graphics department is an underdog?
AMD is not an underdog.
Change my mind.

12GB 3080 with probably 72-76 SMs is what I think the 3080Ti will be and if they don't adjust pricing to compete with AMD then I guess it would be another $200 for the higher-yield silicon and extra couple of GDDR6X modules.
I don't know. The leaks say between 3080 and 3090. So it will be cut down 3090 but with more sm's. Actually 3090 is a cut down version of the chip anyway.

It's gonna happen IF Big Navi beats 3080 and AMD price it at $599. In that case 3080TI would only be able to trade blows with Big Navi given the fact that 3090 is only 9% faster than 3080 and 3080Ti will have 5% less shading units than 3090. Ngreedia can price 100 bucks more given much better brand recognition, but no more than that, if it doesn't want to repeat Intel's Zen nightmare. But as I've said it before, it will all come down to RDNA2 price/performance ratio & absolute performance of it's top tier offerings.

RTG (AMD graphics division) is the underdog. They don't have a majority share of the dGPU market - and I'm talking all dGPU markets - consumers, prosumers, enterprise, or datacenter.

So it would seem that the AMD RTG is an underdog but the global AMD company isn't.

Don't get yourself confused , it is true that Samsung manufacturing capabilities are far from being enough to meet the demand and this for all SKUs BUT this doesn't mean that their defect rate ratio on 3090 cores isn't enough to allow Nvidia to create a 3080Ti SKU . Also from what i've seen on Proshop.de report 3070 availability seems to be much more ample than 3080/3090 , still not enough to totally meet the demand but ample non the less .

Technically the global AMD company is still an underdog as they don't have the marketshare for CPUs either (yet).
Another year or two of Intel screwing up should mean that even the most heavily coerced enterprise clients and OEMs can't ignore their dominance any longer.

It might, if AMD decides to attack Nvidia's discrete GPU market share. They did it to Intel and it worked. I see no reason why Lisa would not pull the same strategy on Nvidia. They're on much better node, no problems with yields, plenty of production spare capacity since mobile producers have moved to TSMC's 5nm. On the other hand Nvidia seems stuck on Samsung's low yielding 8nm (10nm in reality), not suitable for big chips node. At least for now. Now is the time to make Nvidia bleed.

Why not GTX 1080 ti launch price remember? With amount of LoL 11GB GDDR5X in time of release that was tremendous size for gaming card. What is different today and reason for $1k+ And just 2GB more VRAM for ~$25-30 is not reason to lift price with $300+.
