Facebook has recently announced that their gaming platform has launched several cloud-streamed games playable in the Android Facebook app and through the web browser on PC. The service has been in a limited beta for some time with over 200,000 people trying it in limited regions. Facebook makes it clear that the new offering is not intended to compete with more enthusiast options and will instead focus on low-power games on mobile and web. Facebook intends to target the 380 million people who play games through Facebook every month with native integration of cloud games alongside HTML5 games.

The service is launching with several latency-tolerant games including Asphalt 9: Legends, Mobile Legends: Adventure, PGA TOUR Golf Shootout, Solitaire: Arthur's Tale, and WWE SuperCard. Facebook won't be launching cloud games on iOS due to the uncertainty around the feature with Apple's current policies and the issues Microsoft has encountered trying to bring xCloud to Apple devices. Facebook Gaming cloud games are now available to try for customers across select US regions on the Facebook app for Android and on the web.

Facebook is also introducing some new features with this launch including Player names and avatars and cross-play support with cloud and local game versions. Facebook intends to expand the service over time as they scale the infrastructure needed to service more regions with the intention of US-wide coverage in the coming months. The beta will gain a number of new action and adventure games in 2021 along with in-app purchases and ad-enabled game support.

Let me get this right, you can stream Android games on devices that could run those games natively anyway because they're not exactly intensive. What ?

Yeah, this makes no sense. Cloud gaming on mobile is usually so you can play games your phone wouldn't be able to, but all these games can be played on mobile.. So the cloud version is just.. paying for extra latency?

Yeah, that's exactly what I was just thinking.
die FB die...
Yup, was thinking that too!

This move by FB is next-level stupid and proves that the management lack the ability to discern their bum from a hole in the ground...

Let's not pretend that it's not mostly the older demographic that is mostly corrupted by Facebook. Facebook is really not popular at all with kids under 18. I'm 19 and none of my peers use facebook for anything other than to have an Instagram account and use messenger, literally none of the people I know actually use Facebook itself.
What I do see from my occasional browsing of Facebook is older people that have started believing all sorts of nonsense. Many popular conspiracy theories have their biggest following and influence on Facebook. Theories like Flat Earth, anti-vax, etc. etc.
The whole "Facebook ruins teenagers" was true maybe, a decade ago? When it was new? But since then the older people have flocked to it and the teenagers have moved on to something else.

Now if you want to know about what's actually affecting the development of teenagers drastically, then I'd bring up Tik Tok.

This is true, young uns have already moved to greener pastures, well greener, they're being data mined by China now.

And yes, grown adults believing in straight up troll material... its staggering, people lost the plot. They can't see through the power of algorithms, they don't play with them... they fall for them. Same goes on Twitter and all those happy clicking idiots. I think the youngsters can see through the BS a lot better, probably even play it. You see this on TikTok and similar services like Snapchat. Impromptu internet heroes appear and vanish every day.

Correction, always has been malware.
Not true. Back in the early years(2009-2011) Facebook was actually a cool thing and was fun to use. It started going downhill in 2012 and went completely to crap after making an IPO in 2013.
